  1. hello, to me 16K seems like a good deal? I come from an area where all wheel drive is in high demand and those truck are rare, here any way. as for the mile's, if the truck runs strong now, and you leave it the way it is. that engine should pull 200k easy w/regular maintenance. On the Upper Intermediate shaft, If there is a Recall it will be done for free. But I only remember there being a service Bullitan on those? Could be wrong? only 2 bolts hold it in, 15mm wrench and your there! very easy. Welcome!
  2. Thanks for the help. the converter was built for my truck. the tech guy at TCI recomended it,that was the only stall option in that converter. the only advantage off putting it in now is he will do it for free, If I switch converters he definately would not go for that. I think I will keep the stock converter that he accidentally installed. and install a different converter later down the road. he said he would buy the TCI form me, about $650. P&S When People say it takes getting use too, what exactly are U getting used too? Thank You ~Dan
  3. He said it would be good from a dead stop, but when it was already moving and between gears on regular driving would be sluggish, thank's for the advice, though, I am jus trying to figure out if it would be annoying to drive when i am not out getting on it. I choose 3600, cause i dont build boost till 3400rpm and I wanted to launch close to my boost range, cause it is a dog off the line. ??/
  4. Thank's for checking this out, Here is my situation, I just Had my Trans built. And aperentally there was a miscomunication at the trans shop and the converter I suplied did not get installed, it has a stock converter at this time. (He will install it for free if I want it, but he say's I wont like it and Is really trying to talk me out of it. The Converter is a: TCI, Super Street Fighter, 3600rpm stall. What should I do? I am intrested to find out how other people with SSS, like there's, what do u hate? I kinda got one shot at this, trans guy say's it will be very sluggish at lower speeds and break my neck at every light. cam is: 550 lift int/exh. duration 204/218 int/exh engine: 408ci, centrifugal blower Thank's
  5. Have You looked into programming? I know alot of new controll modules must be programmed to the vehicle, using GM Tech 2? still wouldn't be to hard to pull off.
  6. There is really no clearing w/the 408, you jus need to have pistons for the large crank, more specifically piston#8. you do not need to notch the block as with past chevy 350 blocks. Summit racing, has the eagle complete kit for $2200. I believe ~Dan
  7. For your Lowering Kit, I would Look to McGaughy.com they are in the know on 4wd drops. Spindle, Shackle, hanger kit.
  8. for time being, so you dont run your battery dead. Look at the fuse panel under your hood, and your rear park lights are fused individually with 10amp mini fuse, I would pull that for sure.
  9. No 1/4 times for me this year, the closest drag stip is 300mi away, and snow is comming any day, I am gonna run 1/4 mile with G Tech Pro, not sure how accurate that will be? I only have 500mi on the engine since i built it, and the trans was just put in a couple days ago, I smoked the trans on break in . I dont get back home tell monday, so I will post g-tech 1/4 mile times tuesday. FYI, stock, supercharged at -30 below my best run was 13.85 @ 10lbs of boost, (It blew up a few miles Later, lol) That was on my G-Tech. will load more pic's when I get home,(bent rods, piston pieces, etc....LOL
