  1. If your towing with it that is too big. A converter build heat, with you towing, it will only create more, and have you waste tons of fuel. Not to mention a trans gauge thats aftermarket. Or just leave the converter alone and have yours checked out and rebuilt. thats alot less expensive than buying a aftermarket converter. These trucks can handle towing without a problem just with the stock platform.
  2. You pick the converter based on mods done to the truck and future mods. If you just pick a stall you can hurt your performance and have to replace it later again. I love my precision industries converter. For instance I have a built 408 with TVS 2300 a 4L80E and use a 2800 converter. It basicaly acts as a stall of 3200. Save up for a good trans cooler. I would recommend one with a fan that you wire to the ignition, and a trans temp gauge. You will have to drill a hole in the pan and weld a bung for the sensor for the trans temp gauge or get a Aeroforce gauge that lets you swap thru 100 different parameters of the PCM. It plugs in directly to your OBD II port and you done with that gauge.
  3. As most know I just had my trans rebuilt due to a broken input shaft. The truck has been fine. Tonight i lift the hood and notice the top of the trans dipstick hold down is totally gone. Just the dipstick remains. The plastic and all gone. I had the dipstick pop out once while it was locked down. That happened after beating on it. Main question is, how the hell can the whole top of the dipstock lockdown vanish right off the stick. I can understand when you lock the dipstick down that when it flares out the rubber, that can get weak overtime and not seal. Will a normal 4L60E dipstick work with my 4L80E trans as far as it being long enough to read properly. It has a stock pan on it. I would assume it would? I dont want to drive the truck with no seal over the dipstick tube.
  4. Text me at 847-489-1982. I can get a pic of the lanyard and the shirt I have. They would be the same thing but with your color choices. The site sucks for images.
  5. Theseatshop.com has the exact match, color and design seat that our trucks and other vehicles have.
  6. I do half to agree on a new one. Mine isnt bad no cracks or tears, but I would rather go new and start fresh. Good luck on your search
  7. I have a buddy who can make the Silverado SS Lanyards in any color you want can say anything you want your pick. Any type of vinyl decal, banner. Silverado SS Hoodies with SS in front and a picture of your truck on the back if you like. Along with T shirts. Hats can be made as well. Along with any type of vinyl for the truck. His options are basically limitless. I would need to know how many people actually want what. let me what you would like, sizes for hoodies and t shirts, a pic of your truck or we will use a stock photo and use that. How many would be interested in a Lanyard, its color and what color you would like the writing to be in. Same goes for the hats. If we can get enough people we can do a group purchase to cut his cost down on material. He is using is own presses etc at home. Responses. Put down what you want, how many etc. That way I can find a time frame of when things will be ready.
  8. Plugs and wires were just done, I have cat deletes. It has never done this before. I have never had this happen out of the 3 SSS's I have had.
  9. No rain, The truck doesnt see rain its garaged and only goes out on nice days. I also have a catch can already. The problem has been gone for days, but now my Aero Force gauge isnt reading right after this. Always something.
  10. honestly anything stainless will do with size exhaust piping your running. Jegs, Summit.
  11. Just had the cluster check out and all is good with the stepper motors. The company wrapped it in heat shrink to protect it and keep dust out. Bump.
  12. Zippy did a great job on my tune. You just have to contact him and he can tune it as well as other vendors here.
  13. Ill went over the grounds that are under the truck that can cause the issue, those were cleaned up. did both under the hood as well. The problem isnt happening as often like it used to. It would do this like every other key cycle. Now I havent had it all day.
  14. the rest of the codes are gone now after I checked the ground. I charged the battery already last night. I only get this code for the pedal switch. If It doesnt work I can take it back as my budy works at the parts store. Its like a test to try for this. The grounds under the truck at the frame are good and clean as well. I read those have caused this too.
  15. Honestly I would just go with a aftermarket rear. Drop yours out and put the new one up, takes a few hours. either way you are going to spend some money to have the whole thing done.
  16. I already checked the ground from the firewall to the head. Thats fine and cleaned up. I cant change TB's as Mine is aftermarket and specific to my setup. Got another code though and it was for the gas pedal switch. So I got one and am going to install the switch and see if it works.
