  1. Guys, please keep the discussion reasonable and review site rule #15. I myself am passionate regarding this topic however political topics can get out of hand very quickly. Thank you in advance!
  2. I got stuck behind a brine truck on 80 Niko. My car actually had saltcicles hanging off it when I got home. I should have taken a pic. I went on my road with a shovel and scooped up a full bucket of salt to use on my driveway. yea, I am that cheap...
  3. SOLD: 2 sets (16 wires) of Taylor 409 Race Spark Plug Wires - BLACK. One set has only 4k miles on them. The other set has about 25k. ALL wires were resistance checked and they all are within close tolerance of each other. Great wires for headers, fit snug without leaning on the pipes. Comes in original box with paperwork and decals. If someone has interest, I will throw in a stock set of plug wires (about 15k miles) including the heat shields for an additional $10. $60 shipped to your door in the lower 48 (that is $3.75 for each wire!). First come first sold - no "dibs"
  4. I gave my $0.02 in a post above. What more do you want from me?! LOL, suck it up and get the FLT level 5
  5. Juke, Prius, and the Xb (the Cube can also be in this class). Not a fan of the Uplander by GM either.
  6. Running a wet or dry shot...what size?
  7. Hey Rob! I am partial to FLT however there are other options. Don't forget about Level 10...it is just about in your backyard! They have a good following and have built many 60Es. Sometimes having your builder nearby (avoiding the shipping) is a nice benifit.
  8. I have the same one (from a PT member). Works great...used it about 5 times now.
  9. I like it. Looking forward to the Z06 "option" though!
  10. That has some logic and I will agree. However, I would add that if all the adaptors are the same (pins, wire gauge, wire length / type etc.) I would venture any minor voltage / resistance changes would be insignificant and easily overlooked or lost in the noise during tuning. You can even make an argument that from person to person each solder point (quality) will be different and could show resistance variations across all 8 injectors. For spliced pigtail connections that is. If you are using the MSD2400 connectors, this doesn't apply. Me, I just prefer pigtail splicing (or the MSD2400s) as it is a cleaner install once all said and done. Adaptors tend to look like Medusa's head on top of your intake IMHO. But they do speed up the install time greatly!
  11. You saved one! Nice work. I myself would have walked away from that one...
  12. For each individual injector and corresponding wire harness, it does not matter the wire orientation. Splice 'em up!
  13. The knock sensor closest to the firewall is either junk or a wire is pinched/broken. If the dealership cleaned the engine bay before delivery, they could have soaked the valley cover and pooled water in the sensor port...common issue.
  14. Do you plan on WOT lock-ups? Personally I feel you would be better off with a 3000 multi disk for what you are looking for...maybe a bit higher on the RPM stall yet.
  15. Here is the story: I demod'd back to stock and sold off all of the parts. I threw in a stock LQ9 however a ring on #4 let go at start-up and the piston crumbled into the pan. I sold it, not running, locally to a young guy that slapped a new engine in it and had it on the street in like 3 days. He should be pleased with his investment and the overall condition of the truck. By returning it to stock, selling off the parts and ultimately selling the truck, I made more than my original asking price. The only downfall was the labor involved (but I enjoy the wrenching). Man was I pissed when #4let go at start-up. I was considering a new build at that point and keeping the truck! As for the buyer - I let him know of the site so maybe he will stop on over and do a build thread. We casually discussed a cam/converter/intake build so I am sure he will be "enhancing" his new SSS in the future. Good guy and obviously a wrencher.
  16. Welcome to the site and congrats on your '03!!!
  17. LOL I agree as above. The downshift is especially hard on the input shaft however with your modifications, the input shaft shouldn't snap 2x like that. Other than what was stated above, I would question your tranny builder, parts used and also look into your tune for some possible issues on the downshift commands.
  18. Hey Jim, it should give you years of trouble free fun. Here is the list you asked about: •300M billet input shaft •300M billet output shaft •FLT machined performance pump •Media blast case, bell housing, and tail housing to restore a new aluminum finish •FLT sleeved input drum •FLT (billet 6061 aluminum) overrun piston •FLT beast shell kit w/bearing kit •GM 5 pinion input carrier •GM 5 pinion reaction carrier •Bearing style reaction shaft •New reverse input drum •Alto wide 2-4 carbon lined band with reinforced anchor •8 B/W hi-energy clutches w/koleen steels in 3-4 clutch •Extra Wide Heavy Duty double caged 29 element sprag •4L65 low roller clutch •Transgo HD-2 shift kit •Sonnex super hold 2nd servo •Sonnax super hold 4th servo •Bushing kit •New solenoids •New Internal wire harness •New GM Spacer plate •B/W clutches •Seal & gasket kit •Filter (C5 vette) •GM deep pan (C5 Corvette pan) •Updated aluminum accumulator pistons •FLT prepped valve body w/ HD 2-3 shift valve modification •Set end play to FLT specs
  19. I am absolutely sick right now. I had to send an employee home to CT to be with their family. Horrible.
  20. My first job (that I claimed taxes on) was painting the grandstands at Island Dragway. At 16 Y/O I was in charge of "The Bridge", only letting cars with numbers into the pit. I felt like a big shot with that job. The only job I didn't care for was scraping the rubber off the bleech box after a big event weekend. I have pictures of me at 8 years old at the track with my father. A sure piece of history is now gone. I remember borrowing my mother's 88 Dodge Monico one weekend when I was 18 and entering into the bracket race. I made it into the semi-finals before breaking out against some 12 second mustang. I remember being scared that I would win and get my name in the paper...never again allowed to borrow mom's car. Good times for sure On the other hand, the recent management was piss poor and ran the track into the ground. Shameful. I will not name names but the "K" family needed to wake-up. My truck at Island: Mark and Dan at Island: Eddie Mack. and I tearing it up: http://s191.photobucket.com/albums/z258/krambo74/?action=view&current=kevinVSeddie.mp4
