  1. Well, finally got the pics burned to disk. Here is a sample of what I did to the Radix to adapt the 90mm Corvette TB. First I elongated the bottom 2 mounting holes. I then used Mr Gasket material to cut out a rough home made gasket. (Summit Racing, $9.00) Further refinement to the gasket I then used a bead of silicone on both sides of the gasket and smoothed it out some to make for a leakproof seal. (blue silicone RTV liquid gasket, WalMart $2.50) I then dry mounted the TB to the Radix flange using the bottom 2 mounting holes. For me the two stock studs would not be long enough so I bought 2 stainless 6mm x 40mm bolts with washers (Home Depot, $3.50). While the TB was mounted, I drilled out the upper right mounting hole through the radix flange. I got lazy and drilled right through and utilized a 6mm x 50mm bolt with a nylon locking nut but you could tap threads and make it look cleaner (Home Depot, $2.50). I then tilted the butterfly and used a Sharpie to outline the material to remove on the flange. For me the butterfly would not open all the way making it difficult to mark, but I eventually got it. I also used this opportunity to mount the assembly with the gasket to do the same outlining on it. I only had a minor amount of material to remove on that. Now the fun part...have at it with the saber saw and the Dremel. Just like Big Tex, I used the saber saw to remove the majority of the material (went through 3 blades) and then went in with the Dremel to clean it up. I used a tungsten carbide bit in the Dremel with success only at lower speeds. If you spin it fast, the bit will clog up. Not a real big deal but does make for a longer time spent on the project. Looking at the area where I was with the Dremel, you can see how rough the interior of the J-tube is on the Radix. Kind of makes me want to take it to an extrude hone shop for some P&P. While I was at this point, I tapped a screw into the idle bypass area that needs to be filled in later with the JB Weld. The next post will contain more final pics...(dial-up is killing me )
  2. When I saw 28" wheels, I thought an overall diameter of 28" (like for drag racing,...I use 29.1"). I am sorry, but I do not care for them. I will say one thing though, you will attract alot of attention with them!
  3. ...and I am in the market for a tranny Keep us posted.
  4. Re-install: A longer crank bolt will work if you can find one. I went all over looking for one and ended up making my own tool to get the pulley back on. I cut 2.0 pitch threads into some round stock and have various nuts and sequential washers on the piece. It worked great. A little heat also is useful. I baked my pulley in the oven at 250* for 20 minutes to expand the metal. It still didn't go all the way on as to where the threads would catch but did help. if you would like to borrow my custom tool, let me know. I know your are supposed to have a new bolt, but I used my same bolt for 3 pulley changes and have had no issues. I will be removing it once again in a few weeks to pin my crank pulley. I figured I would buy another bolt this time. Cost $8.00 from the dealer.
  5. How much was that Wynjammer thing? Was it a complete kit (injectors, fuel pump etc)? What psi can it do on a lq9? May go with that one instead of the Radix. Just kidding. I know of a few people who would like to have a blower but do not want to dump the $$$ for a proven system though.
  6. ....figured it out. He has a listing in the For Sale section here. Its all good.
  7. It was you. My pics Just kidding. Best of luck selling.
  8. Just browsing through E-bay and noticed a very familiar picture. It was my truck! So who is it? Not that I am mad or anything, just curious. BTW, I do not have that license plate anymore. Link :E-bay
  9. You will know right away if its spinning backwards. I would think that a quick call to tech support would land your correct answer. I'm going CW.
  10. If you happen to destroy one or more of the clips, you can buy them in Lowes for like $0.50 a piece. MUCH cheaper than the dealer. They are found in the "pull out" drawers where the custom bolts are located.
  11. I know alot of people keep looking for centercaps. 4 for $100,...even have the black flags in the center. Ebay Center Caps or these (I think they are ) but for $20 for 4 SS Centercaps (E-bay)
  12. That is exactly what I did except swap out the pads for hawk pads when I was in there. Nice job!! I will get some pics as well. Are the rotors from Quikstop?
  13. The number of cricket chirps you count in a 15 second interval, plus 37 will give you the current air temperature in *F. No word in the English language rhymes with month, orange, silver, or purple. The 3 tone musical chime that identifies the network NBC is the 3 notes G, E, C for the parent company General Electric Corp.
  14. My pipes exit in a similar way to AUTOGUY's (I actually cut the cladding to tuck them flush) and I have no paint discoloration or warping. I have had them this way for 3 years now.
  15. Forgot to mention the progressive controller a very cool addition. I would also invest in a low level sensor and light if your are tuning for a serious meth only program. It woould suck to be out of meth and run it to >6k on a lean tune Are you looking to do only meth or a 50/50+/- combo?
  16. I would be interested. I always wanted a vehicle that has a "limited production" and some serrious performance. I am in the hunt for a Ty or Sy for that reason. Something that only a handful own but is well known in the performance arena. I would look to spend in the same ballpark as the SSS and the TBSS and not as high as the SRT10. My truck (SSS) will be paid off in less than 2 years and I will be looking (never selling the SSS though). I was looking forward to a "new" camaro SS or something along those lines if they come back, however a RCSB with some real snot would be enticing
  17. When I get around to installing it, SNOW Performance. I went with them due to price / availability and easy fit / install of all the components. Alky controls was 2nd on my list due to their rep. and quality of materials.
  18. Anyone have an account where they can check unlimited amount of vehicles? Anyone want to run 2 numbers for a fellow SSS.com member?
  19. I bought slotted cross drilled stock rotors, hawk pads and calper paint for all under $400. I can't say that I notice a deffinate improvement but they sure look a hell of alot better. Cross drilled rotors will crack if subjected to heavy breaking and heat extremes. If you are a "spirited" breaker or tow alot, I would not go with cross drilled rotors, just slotted. The hawk ultra performance pads generate a ton more heat than stock pads and will most likely crack cross drilled rotors quickly. I chose the street/strip pads and they seem fine. I cheaped out and didn't get the stainless lines. While your have the breaks apart, might as well do the lines.
  20. Fox_forma, If you do not need 4x4, I found a great beater. I am considering buying it. 98 S-10 RCSB. 16k miles, red. You could get it for $2500. The guy says MINT. Seems too good of a deal to me though. Buying a beater was one of the best investments I did. I highly suggest it! Go to autotrader.com and list the specs you want. I did mine for under 50Kmi and under 3,000 dollars. Good luck!
  21. Why the hell am I getting the pictures in a "download" form? Is because of the size? Help me out!!!
  22. My buddy and I both have snotty trucks but his is crazy. He has a Duramax CCSB / Alison @ 33psi and NOS with lots of programming. Full exhaust as well. Anyway, believe it or not, he plows with this truck. Showing off he does a 4x4 launch (with the plow on the front and completely shreads BOTH front shafts. This truck hasn't been on the dyno but is easily putting down 600 / 1200 and does the 1/4 at amid to high 12. He doesn't do any weight reduction at the track and has 35" BFG AT's step bars, plow package, bed cover, trailer hitch and the multi ball attachment. I will bet he has about 1000lbs of extra weight he could shed. Here is a couple of shots of one side:
