  1. I know this is not an SSS however, ive always gotten great advice from this board so i figured id give it a shot. I recently purchased a 1985 IrocZ 305HO-T5-3.73 posi to tinker with during the summer. Car is in great shape only 77,000 miles and i got her for $1,000. All the body work is done and shes all primed up. The clutch was obviously all but gone and i had a "ticking" sound coming from the tranny area which i assumed was a bad throwout bearing. So Fri at work we were slow so i went ahead and decided to put the clutch in. The clutch kit came w/ pressure plate, clutch, pilot bushing and throwout bearing. I was able to get the tranny back in Fri and went back up to the shop this morning to button everything else up, driveshaft, top off fluid, and put center console back in. So now to the problem, I started her up to back it off the lift and the ticking is worse and the damn thing wont catch reverse. WTF! Does anyone have any insight to what the problem might be? Im pretty sure i got everything back in correctly, it was pretty straight forward. A hell of a lot easier than the AWD system in the truck. I almost forgot to mention that before the replacement the car never went into reverse smoothly but would find it after releasing and depressing the clutch pedal a second time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mark
  2. a friend of mine has a salvage yard and a car came in with a NX kit in the trunk. luckily he looked in the trunk before crushing car. anyway he gave me the kit and im undecided on weather to put it on the truck. the kit seems to be complete except for some of the wiring. it has a shark nozzle, iceman pure flo nitrous solonoid w/ purge, a reg fuel solonoid(i guess, it doesnt say iceman on it?) it also came with a press. controlled heater and blowdown tube. havent done a whole lot of research on nitrous because im scared of the stuff honestly. been doing some reading and it looks like the harris microedge controller would be a great cheap way to get the system as safe as possible????basically im wondering of this would be all i needed to run the system safely? is my factory fuel pump going to be able to keep up? is a fuel press. safety switch nessesary? should i get some type of fuel press guage and if so what type(underhood, in-cab)? ill go up to vengance and have them re-do the tune if i decide to put it on. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys Mark trucks running 8.7 in the 1/8 would a 125 or 150 shot get her into the 7's?
  3. to bad the awd system couldnt have been selectable like 4x4.

    Help!

sounds like you prob. broke one of the plastic connectors for the rod. id bet one of the rods is in a bind down in there causing the door latch to do crazy things. getting that door panel off with the door closed will prob. be a pain in the butt. however you should be able to get in there and use your hand to manually open the door by pushing down on the outside handle rod. most of the time the clip that connects the rod to the handle is what is broken so the rod should still be functional. just for your info the dealer will sell just the clip without buying the whole handle assembly, if they tell you to buy a whole handle assembly let me know ive got a few of those clips at the shop id be happy to send you one. good luck
  5. ive replaced a few for friends. go to your local salvage yard or try lkq.com or car-parts.com youll have to find a phone number on the websites because this part wont be listed but they WILL sell you one.
  6. didnt know that Sprayed99. both vehicles are WAY out of my price range so i havent done much reading on them especially the GT-R. it is a cool little car though, big change of pace from working on the norm. nissans and such at work. my fav. thing about the car is either the intake(so much nicer looking than ours) or the huge 6 piston calipers on the front
  7. now thats a protein shake...should've went back to where you bought the drink and messed w/ the people there about it.
  8. body shop will def. have the size you need. GM ships bumpers in huge boxes should be able to fit damn near anything in there.
  9. just been looking around the net and surprisingly this thing will hang w/ a ZR1. only 5mph slower top speed GTR-195, ZR1-200
  10. wonder how it would compare to a Z06
  11. all he needed was a big ass wing and some wood screws
  12. she a bad mother. had it in the paint booth all by her self last night so nothing would happen to her. got in this morning and rev'd her a bit she sure sounded bad ass in that booth. a guy from Cali has already bought and paid for it, hes on the way w/ a trailer to get her. wonder if the dumbass from the dealer ship got in trouble for trying to play mister cool and take it to the car show.
  13. local Nissan dealer took this one to a car show and some ass scratched it. ooooops twin turbo 540hp and the biggest damn brakes ive ever seen in person.
