sorry A $40k SSS wasn't in the cards for me when I was looking for a truck. I found a truck nearby that had everything I needed and most of what I wanted for a good price. Sure, I'm missing 50hp, AWD, 20s, leather, and a bodykit, but I get better gas mileage and can still tow my 96 Impala SS.

With a 1.18 short time getting a little sideways off the line, I can definitely the times dropping in the future. I thought it looked a LOT like the old ProStock Trucks! Those were awesome to watch. Techinally this isn't the fastest diesel truck, but it is definitely up there around the quickest. Probably the fastest diesel drag truck. The 200mph "Sidewinder" from a couple years back holds the "fastest" title. Now if you took this truck and changed the gearing, I'm sure it would be close to catching your other one. This is a very impressive truck for sure! What does it weigh in at? How much of what has been done with the engine could be done to a street diesel that actually tows and stuff?

OK, what do you want me to do? I have a pretty decent digital camera. I can get pictures of any angle that you want. How about I go outside and get video now? I was just guessing on OOPS' truck. Since they all have body-color grills, it is difficult to tell. I do think they all look good! I've got SS envy with my truck. I'm halfway tempted to repaint the entire hood and the grille all body color and put an SS bumper on the front.

It looks like the second truck in the picture at the top of each forum page has done the 06-07 hood + 03-05 grille also. However, it could possibly just have a bug deflector on.

Yes it is. No clearance issues, even with the billet grille. There is a slight mis-match in the angle of the grille to the bottom of the hood. However, the hood sticks out further than the grille, so from eye level nothing is wrong.

Oh, I know! I've NEVER tried putting an 06 grille on with my stock orange 05 hood and noticed that the hood hits the grille. And then I did NOT swap my 05 grille back on and put a black 06 hood on. It's not like there are any clearance issues.... Because that would look stupid and nobody would complement the look. And I would never, ever click on the underlined parts of my previous post... Or would I? MAYBE I took several measurements between 05 and 06 model trucks to see if there were any differences, and then MAYBE I DID put an 06 hood on my 05 truck...

I would ask for pictures, but everybody knows what a stock black SS looks like. What is the mileage? Where could I see it? What kind of gas mileage are you getting with it? My RWD 05 ECSB with the 5.3 and 3.23s gets right what the EPA says it should.

Does the hood latch need to be changed as well? I've got an orange 05 Silverado with a billet grille. The sides of the grille are black. I have access to the entire front sheetmetal of a black 06 Silverado (they put an Escalade front on the truck.) I'm wondering if there is any way that I could use the 06 hood on my truck without completely changing to the 06 grille. I would like to get rid of the chrome bar, but I don't really like the chrome grilles that the 06 has. I do like the bodycolor between the headlights and turn signals though. Someday I plan on changing the front bumper to something without the chrome.
