  1. Yeah, I was hoping for some reality. But I think you guys are correct. Maybe GM will get their head out of the darkness one day and figure out how to build a hp truck that’s not only marketable but trend setting. They should build one that sets the standard and quit trying to match existing competitors trucks. When you have the best in the field, people will pay the price. When you are at the middle of the pack at best, they turn away.

  2. Ah okay thanks for the replies guys. I knew I was going to lose but I didn't give a shit hahahahaha. Hope I see him at a light again one day when my truck has a 6.hoe and a 76mm turbo and he can hear my spool while I'm brake boosting ready for it to turn green!!! Just wish that day could be tomorrow haha.

One day when I get....bla-bla-bla! Yeah one day when I get a 572 B.B. with a couple of spinners or a pro-charger and and a Tranny to pull it and a 4-link suspension and racing stripes and....!!!

5 lengths at 60! Not sure that was a bad running SS!?!? How many lengths are you used to getting pulled by???

    Just teasing!

  3. I've got a pair of NIB Gibson polished stainless exhaust tips. 2.5" inlet, 2.75 x 6" outlet.

I bought a Gibson Super Truck Series cat-back system last year. These tips are the standard tips for the kit. Though I couldn't exchange them, I bought the matching black ceramic tips and never installed these. So, I don't need them and may as well sell them.

They retail around $165 for the pair, they sell them for about $126 discounted.

I'll take $65 for the pair, and I'll include free shipping to the lower 48, only!

So anyone interested, or any questions, give me a shout.

  4. Street Scene actually makes the billet inserts as well. I have never seen them in black though.

Really? I guess I need to look at their site a little closer! If that's the case, I could always have them powder coated. I want to pc my wheels so, they would be a perfect match!!! Thanks for the reply jddmj!

Btw, is that custom side exit exhaust on your truck?

  5. Hey All!

What are my grille options for a Street Scenes Bumper cover?

I've searched this topic, but found nothing other than the "mesh type" that Street Scenes makes. I want to go with the billet aluminum style, powder coated black. I've seen pics with them and know some guys buy the kits for the OEM SS bumpers and modify/cut them to fit the Street Scenes version. Is that my only option? If so, is there a particular brand that works better than another? The most affordable ones seem to be sold by eBay stores. However, to me, the most important thing is, which is the best to purchase for my application.

Most kits seem to be the overlay type and seem to be more affordable. However, with the SS cover, obviously I have nothing to lay over on the 3 lower holes so, I assume some mount modifying will have to be done? On a side note, I plan on relocating my fog lights to the brake ducts and I think I'm going to get the round halo type sitting in a plastic, grille looking frame around it (pic attached). Could that act as a mount for the overlaid billet insert? Finally, Along with the bumper inserts, I'm doing the upper grille(s) also, which shouldn't I purchase a 5-piece kit all together?

I've attached a couple of pics from my truck to show my set-up. Also, a pic of the fog light type I'm installing.

Thanks in advance for the help, hopefully with your suggestions and experience, this will be a one time purchase!post-1255-0-07434200-1371918531_thumb.jpgpost-1255-0-45515900-1371918906_thumb.jpgpost-1255-0-21436900-1371922270_thumb.jpg

  6. Yeah Guys,

I've done a ton of research on the VHO Bowtie.

The only thing I've seen on eBay is the "SS" version. Unless you guys know something there that I don't?

I talked to Shopman a few months ago and he actually can make them. (Super nice guy) Only catch is, I have to have an order of 10 or more! His CNC shop considers an order of 50 or more a favor. And, I totally understand, that's why I was so fired up thinking I could easily get 10 orders!

I did post a thread here a while back to see the interest of anyone else wanting one. I only got 3 or 4 interested members. If I would've gotten 7-8 orders, I could've covered the others.

I guess the interest of VHO's is dropping off. I'm late into the game because I've only owned mine a couple of years, so it's like new to me!

Which has brought me to this thread! Kind of a last resort. So, hopefully someone will come up for one! Or, two,ha! If that happens, TampaVMax gets the other!!!

Thank you guys for your help and responses! Keep em coming!!!

  7. Anyone out there willing or want to sell a Shopman VHO Bowtie? Even if you have an old one that's maybe pitted or just kinda old and rough! I'm gonna paint it anyway so it doesn't really matter. I can Paypal or whatever works!

If so, email me and maybe send a current pic.

    Thanks!

  8. EEEEEK!!!

Is there only four VHO guys out there that want a high quality custom Bowtie?

I know these trucks are getting old, but damn, I still want to trick mine out! I mean, it's all I could afford to spend on a truck right now. This way I have money to do some things to it. I cant leave anything stock! What a great platform to start with! A rare HP Silverado! Am I missing something out there guys?

  9. As long as he stand behind it this time. I purchased what was supposed to be the last one and It does fit Nor does it look very good. I have been trying to find some one to make me one ever since but no one wants to do a 1 off part.

The metal separated under were the letters were milled out. It looks like it was pressed to much. The center of the emblem sits up to high as a result.

I believe Shopman would! You're the first I've heard of someone having an issue with one! Could've been a early version or something?

If we get 10 orders and can get them into production, I'll stand behind it! I'm pretty picky, so I want a nice piece for my grille too. That's why I bugged the hell out of him (Shopman) to commit to making them.

With you ordering one, that puts us to 4 confirmed, we'll need 6 more. I will be on vacation next week. If we have enough serious orders by the time I'm back (March 9th) we will get the ordering process going! If there's not enough by then, we will cancel the orders.

    Thanks!

  10. Hey Guys/ Gals!

Any interest out there in purchasing a Shopman1 VHO Bowtie? I talked to him a while back and if there was still enough interest, he would possibly make a run of them. They look like the SS versions he's made. Just Google images to see them. They are built from high polished aircraft aluminum & would have hardware. These are replacements of the factory plastic junk, not overlays, very high quality and VERY RARE! I know we would need at least ten orders. All of this does come at a bit of a price, but considering the quality and craftsmanship, its a very fair price! The cost is just under $120ea.

If there is enough serious interest, more details will follow.

I think it's safe to say, this will be the last chance ever to purchase one!

    Let me know, Thanks!post-1255-0-77714000-1361719201_thumb.jpg

  11. Well, no post for close to ten years, anyway.

I first joined when the SS's came out hoping to soon get one. With lifes changes and expenses, that dream never happened!

Then, about a year and a half ago I needed a truck that was a little more practical as a daily driver than my 90 454 SS. I purchased a 05 Silverado Ext cab 2WD with a 6.0L. With some research and Internet browsing, I found out I had a VHO! I didn't even know they existed!

I love this truck! It was a one owner and pretty stock. I've done some minor upgrades with more to come.

I just wanted to get involved on this site and share and listen to the great advise that I get here!

Thanks all! I'm happy to be back!!!

    Sincerely, Indy13
