  1. I didn't receive a maintenance packet. Any info out of there would be greatly appreciated!
  2. Anybody know how many or the location of the front end chassis lube points? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
  3. My 2003 Z71 (5.3) with 65k+ was really loud in 4HI, and a little quieter in 4Auto. Techs all said it was normal or that I was using it too much (i.e. on dry roads or situations where I should have been in 2WD, which was not the case) I could never convince myself that it was normal, made me shudder when I switched to 4WD, thought I was grinding away the transfer case. Transfer case/differential/transmission flush made no difference. Traded that for a 2007 new style VMax, 4HI is as quiet and smooth as one could ask for. I find myself checking the dial every time I start it up because I'd never know if I was in 4HI.
  4. Forgive me if this is posted elsewhere, I couldn't find a word about it. My 2007 new style VMax has a second battery tray, has anyone looked into putting a second battery in? Perhaps my original post was stupidly worded. I guess what I'm asking is, do you think a second battery could simply be wired in parallel to gain some extra capacity when using accessories while the truck is turned off? Or would the system need some more complex wiring? i.e. isolator, etc.?
  5. My only problem with the truck was a shorted wire leading to the passenger side electrical equipment. Fishing opener: dropped the boats in the water, started drinking...couldn't roll up the passenger window. Not a huge deal but it rained quite a bit that weekend and the closest dealership to the resort hadn't even seen the 07's yet. It ended up being a pinched wire behind the parking brake release, probably just a fluke thing, truck's been perfect ever since. Now as for the Cargo Management System and the toolboxes? I'd like to find the monkey that designed that system and beat the life out of him. First of all, as 4banged mentioned, the toolboxes leak from the top, which basically makes them worthless unless you want to haul water. And the moveable tie-down brackets? They're on the same rail as the toolboxes, meaning you'd better hope they're positioned right where you need them or you get to take your toolbox off just to slide one down. But the thing that really gets me mad is the large sliding toolbox. I thought with a sliding system it would be easy to remove the big toolbox when I need to use the whole bed for other cargo, this is not the case. All that being said, I think the system is a great idea, they just need to make it more versatile or at least weatherproof.
