  1. Here is the Streetfire link, it finally came through: TORQUE SOUTH #7
  2. Here it is: http://www.megavideo.com/?v=ARVG8GY9
  3. To download: Megaupload Direct Streetfire link is coming in as soon as it's approved by SF mods. Racing in my diesel tow-truck against: - Harley Davidson F-150 with supercharged Lightning engine - SS Trailblazer - SRT-8 Jeep - Cammed Chevy truck - Twin Turbo V10 VW All have at least 400 hp and most are AWD. Also featuring a really nice right hand drive 2002 Spirit R FD, legal for driving around in Florida which I thought was very cool. Enjoy
  4. I'd LOVE to, but it's too far. If you visit S. Florida, you can pick which one of my Chevy trucks you would like to race. Have fun anyway!
  5. Thanks for the info Mr. P! That makes sense. There is a good chance the truck in question is modified, so in that case I am pretty sure I can tune it out.
  6. Is the AWD harder on the tranny than RWD? Are there any common transmission problems that can cause a bang into 2nd gear only? Are the AWD trannies more sensitive to line pressure? Sorry about all the questions. I noticed that just like my Syclone, many of these AWD SS trucks are experiencing tranny problems when heavily modified. I'd like to get some general information on the issue. Thanks in advance.
  7. Thanks for all the responses. I am not allowed to advertise on here (for free anyway) so I'll just answer the questions. My business is mobile, I don't have a shop or a dyno. We all work at a large GM dealer , so I had access to a lot of vehicles to experiment with when I was writing my tunes. ;) I know of many local dynos. The blue Duramax in the video is my daily driver. I am very proud of how it runs with minimal modifications. It dynoed well over 100 extra hp to the wheel on the South Florida Performance dyno. I also know of at least one AWD dyno in the area. A dyno session will hopefully be a major part of the next video (Torque South #7). I would love to get some footage of many nice Chevy trucks on the rollers. I apologize to the moderators for advertising before, I will not do it again. If I spent money on it then I'd have to charge more for my services. We do the videos for fun, and to show off. I don't want to get in trouble here and have my posts deleted again, so please contact me otherwise with any questions. Thanks!
  8. Thanks, glad you liked it. Yeah the paper weights are popular #3 is one of my all time favorites, I like the music and my customer's red truck which flies on the street despite his poor times at the track due to inexperience and bad launches. I've already had a blue and a silver SSS agree to be in the next video, hopefully at the track. I will try to make it even better than the first six, but it will be a while (need more action packed raw footage).
  9. The next Torque South movie (#7) will feature some Silverado SS, I can't wait http://www.torquesouth.com/videostorquesouth.htm There are also some very funny videos on the other pages of the website, mostly GM related
  10. Wish you were here in Miami. I'd tune your truck for an extra 30 horsepower and make the tranny shift better, and if you still lose I'd race him with my Silverado for $500 and give you double your money back. I have a habit of beating nitrous & chipped Powerstrokes around here, and all I have is intake, exhaust and tuning. Everything else is 100% stock. Check out this video to see me take out a new Powerstroke with intake, exhaust, Bully Dog, and a big bottle of nitrous: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/8155818...949015dd4bd.htm
  11. I thought this might be an appropriate thread for me to chime in since I race an '06 LBZ Duramax, and tune SS trucks for my customers. Smoke - the older trucks smoke just a little stock, the new ones do not unless there is a clogged air filter of a fuel problem. Exhaust and EGR mods can contribute to smoke under load as well as an agressive tune, but with a big tune he would have left you bad. Light grey smoke is unburnt fuel, black smoke is running rich Allison - it's an extremely strong tranny. Not really designed for racing, it defuels on shifts and takes 3 secods to downshift, also goes through gears very fast and bulky heavy rotating parts suck up a lot of power. They still make over 300 to the wheels stock, which suggests they were underrated (typical GM) Tap shifter doesn't actually shift gears, only limits top gear. 6 speed much stronger than 5 speed, very hard to even limp (unlike 5 speed) Stock times - I notice the consensus is high 14s for the SS trucks. I went very low 15s bone stock before breaking in, with a 2500HD 4x4 LT2 extended cab. Duramax can go high 14s stock if small enough. Since you're in Gainsville, maybe we can have a friendly run one day (I'm down south though). I love the SS trucks and it would be a privilege to have one in one of my videos, regardless of the outcome. They are gorgeous, and mean, a true performance truck unlike the Duramax that is a work truck and just happens to become ungodly stupid fast with the right modifications.
  12. Nice kill! Those Cummins can be fast when highly modified. Altough many tried to beat my Silverado, only one managed to pull it off. He had a huge shot of nitrous, and grenaded his tranny shortly afterwards.
  13. My Duramax does not have an upgraded turbo, and with the variable geometry vanes and tuning I can hit over 20 psi @ 1600 rpm. I suppose that guy had a huge turbo to have all that lag. I respect the SS trucks and normally don't try to race them.
  14. I think both are great, I prefer EFILive myself. I also like how EFILive is lightyears ahead of HPT with diesel tuning, which is important to me.
