i also used carfax on my 03 ss, safe insurance that the truck is what it is. look for the steering shaft (clunk), and if you it doesn't have a sunroof, make sure you test drive down the highway 70-80. I didn't and about a week later found out that the roof is very thin and flexable and at highway speeds and especally with wind that the roof towards the back would flex making very bad sounds. easy fix though with sound damper material overall, a killer truck good luck

cody, your tire pressure sounds ok. other than the cover, one of the things that come to mind is possibly removing the passenger seat and maybe even the rear. if you could find a place for the cover, i'd remove that plus the tailgate. as you know it all adds up. generally for every 100 pounds lost, you'll gain a tenth of a second. good luck!!

i bought mine about 3 months ago. the place was about 3hrs away so i called and the owner assured me that it was perfect and ready to be installed. anyway i got down there and the paint on the back of the spoiler was extremely coated with overspray, the front rubber seal was starting to fall out, and to top it off, the bracket kit sent was the wrong one. temp secured the cover the best we could and gaylords overnighted the correct brackets. as for the other things, i ended up fixing them myself. I was never offered a discount or anything. oh well.

i also have the x2000 speedstur, the tailgate protector is not an issue, but mine has large gaps at the rear corners of bed. all and all a good looking cover
