1. 27k and change on my '07 Classic, bought April 2007.
2. Lots of high mileage guys here!
3. 25,590 on my 2007 VMAX Classic bought new in April 2007.
4. Agreed 100%- it will get you very close to equal, but unless you tint the windshield, the fronts will always seem lighter.
5. You cannot purchase any more or better PPE for people than as I already do. We train like there is no tomorrow, and our people are certified instructors. And the risk is still there. My accident was on a deserted road in the country- that I OWNED. I do not drive to put others' lives at risk. It sems nowadays that you have to actually watch one die or be injured from this to understand my point, or, at least, have more common sense and ability to reason than the iron you drive. Your comment of "If they f up and slam into the back of you, sue his ass..." led me to believe your experience and ability to reason were somewhat lacking; sorry if this inference was incorrect, but even you must admit it does not fit with the conditions of this life. Unfortunately, it looks as though you feel groundless statements are the only recourse against reason; next time, bring some facts to the table or risk looking the fool.
6. Agreed- none of the mentioned exhausts will pose a restriction for most NA street applications. Well-tuned race exhausts can use Flows or any good muffler given the right conditions, although companys often pay more at the track when using specific products (ala Hooker Headers, etc). I love my Corsa system, but I'm sure there are others that are just as good for other drivers. I did not want drone but did want it nice and raspy at WOT- I definitely got it in the Corsa.
7.

I would stay away from hand held tuners... not worth the money. For the price, you can get a custom PCM tune on a spare core, and keep your stocker for "just in case" situations. I was going to do that, but, then, I'm impatient and didn't want to wait for it to get here! The tune and the shift kit were such huge improvements, words do not do justice.
8. I figured pre-tune that I would see 20-40 out of all the work, including the tune, depending on how well GM had it to begin with.
9. After looking at the pulls again, I think these numbers are off. I asked Scott for the dyno data in a spreadsheet so I can do my own math... the torque, in particular, seems out of proportion. I'll update when I get it... he went to New York for a vacation, so it might be a week or two.
10. UPDATE: I'm sending this unit back... I just can't live with the quality of the mold. Terrible fitment.
11. Baselined in 3rd to rev limit, then pulled 3rd post-tune. After the tires warmed up, we pulled 1-3 in drive from a 10mph start for the rest of the post-tunes to work with engine management at the shifts.
12. You're right in a practical sense, but changes to scavanging and exhaust pressure can make a difference in the overall operation of the motor. I'm less adept at the PCM controlled stuff, but I have spent quite a bit of time with tuning domestics in general. For the most part, I would say that you would not notice a difference in an otherwise stock vehicle, but add some improvements like intake, manifold/TB, cam, and headers and you could have a bottleneck fast in your exhaust system.
13. Installed the T-Rex grille and lower bumper grille (the two upper bumper grilles are coming next week). Here's a link to my photo album for before and after shots of the front end. Also, if you look you can see the clear parking lights (I put clear lamps in, but will replace with some LED lamps when they come in). I could not believe how much cleaner it looks until I went inside, then went back out and looked again. These grilles are outstanding. I've installed many different brands, but these guys have been the best by far. In any case, my next project will be to find a set of Denali headlight housings and install the Philips 4300k HIDs. I'm working with Glenn at mytightride.com on fitting up the "right" tail lights- right now I'm leaning towards Well, that's enough for Saturday. Time to go watch the Bolts practice in San Diego tomorrow Have a great weekend all! (I just noticed I spelled grille 'grill' in the heading... damn! I must be thinking of the barbeque...)
14. Nice look with the projectors! Clean, very clean.
15. Put all of your mods on first, then tune to it- if you can, tune on a dyno. I just had mine done last week, and having the dyno there for feedback was extremely helpful. Unless you parallel PCM units or run your power control off of a laptop, you're stuck with modifying the PCM tables. Or, get a tuned PCM (do a search) and pay the core charge to keep your stocker around if you feel it necessary. I haven't at all yet, but I'm sure there are guys here who tow with a tune- they can help you more in that regard (as far as tuning timing and fuel for load conditions). Good luck!
