  1. Sure enough, my parents took my truck to Tennesse this weekend and when they came back the DIC said 17.7. They drove at 75mph there and back. I never thought it would see over 15.5.
  2. x2 on the Blue color. But how in the hell do you get 17 out of it? Did it have some kind of tune or serious weight reduct.
  3. I have an 03 SS AWD. Right now im getting 14.8 mpg avg. according to the DIC, being about 0* around here doesnt help much but during the summer I saw 15-15.1 avg. driving on the highway. In the city Im getting about 13. The first and only time ive taken my truck to the track it ran a 15.47 @ 86 mph, that was with a full tank of gas, completely stock, and hot and humid out. If you live in an area that gets a lot of snow the AWD is very nice, otherwise if you like to do huge burnouts and what not, the RWD might be more fun. This all just my 2 cents, hope it helps.
  4. Dont post around here much but stumbled upon this thread. Here's mine next to my brothers newly redone dually. Just the front. And a motion shot.
  5. The tail lights will fit an 03 right and are they still for sale? Do you accept Paypal? Sorry for all the questions but im interested in them.
  6. Are you going to mod it and what not when you get it, or leave it stock? If your going to leave it stock go with an 02-04, but if you're going to mod it find a cheap 01, and go that route. All i can really say is go out and test drive a C5 Z06, and then test drive a basic C6, even one with the Z51 package. There's no way to really describe the difference between the two. Stock for stock the C5 Z will out run the C6 by just a little bit. My dad had a C6 with the Z51 and he didnt like it very much because it was just too "nice" he felt like he was driving a Cadillac, but when he drives the C5 Z he absolutely loves it. Just because of the sound, the ride, the handling, and the power. If you lived around here i would take you for a ride and show you just how nasty of a bitch it can be.
  7. 32 seems a bit high. My dad paid 32 for the one i drive now. It was an 02 so it had the 405HP (385 ft/lbs) deal and had 19000 miles. The 01's have 385HP (365 ft/lbs i think). But if you're going to mod it anyway it wont make a difference. The only thing is that quite a few 01's had an oil burning issue. As for a DD, hell yeah, as long as you dont have to drive it in the snow. Otherwise ill have to come hit you upside the head with a 2X4. Or unless you dont like driving a manual everyday. Which sometimes bothers me when im sitting in traffic or i just want to drive the car normal. But test drive it and see what you think, my guess is you will not want to get out.
  8. I'm not a grown man yet, so i dont count.
  9. Hell yeah man, ill take one. What do i do, just checkout on their site?
  10. Good find. I'm gonna try to order some up in the next couple days.
  11. Damn those look good, i need to get some of these but in blue. Has anyone had their headrests color matched, cause id like to do that too if its not too expensive.
  12. Mods will hopefully be coming either this winter or next spring. Volant CAI, and a Magnaflow cat-back for now. I might think of adding a higher stall TC, but then ill probably want to add a shift kit and tranny cooler and then get a tune and then headers. Appearance mods will be coming shortly too, 2/2 drop and probably add 22"s or 24"s for show, and possilby a cowl induction hood, darker tint, some kind of sweet stereo system. I need to stop typing now before i get into trouble or come up with any more ideas, like HID headlights, oh god make it stop. My ultimate plans are either swap a LSx into it or go F/I. But thats many many years down the road, have to get through college first.
  13. What do you mean, you people!!!!! Theres a red SS in Panama City too, its my brothers friend, i think his name is Josh. All i know for sure is he has a CAI and exhaust. He's also in the Air Force so there might be a military tag on it somewhere. As for vette owners being dicks, yeah most are but there are some really cool ones out there. Im always lookin for a good race but no one ever wants to come out and play. Mustang Boss's, GT's, riced out EVO's, other vettes, camaros, etc.
  14. Thats actually harder than it sounds. The wiper cowl, windsheild and firewall all get in the way. I know of one guy that is currently doing this though and it actually runs. Anyway enough with the non-important info. If it was a older auto mustang those trannys were slushboxes. I dont know if Ford got smart and actually did something about them or not in the newer ones.
  15. No its not the tires, lol. Ive tried to squeal them and i cant.
  16. I think i figured out how to fix the problem............................... just turn up the stereo a little more. ;) But seriously, still havent figured it out. Probably just going to let it go, or make my dad figure it out.
  17. Its been going on for a couple weeks now. When i take a left turn ill get a squealing noise that sounds like its coming from the front left its not real loud but kind of faint, just gets really annoying at times when im driving in town. Im confused and dont even know where to look or what to check. And if im parked and i turn my wheels lock to lock it doesnt make any noise, just when im driving. Any help would be appreciated.
  18. I was pretty pleased with my results of my truck last night. I got in a total of 11 runs but 5 of them were actuall bracket racing and so i wont include them, but i won all 5 of my races. My first pass was the best of the night, probably cause i got there an hour early and so the truck sat for an hour and had a nice cool down. I was also racing with 3/4 tank of gas and full weight. Didnt feel like taking out the spare tire or jack. Temp 74* and No Stall RT... -.035 60ft... 2.227 1/8... 9.864 @ 71.489 1/4... 15.47 @ 86.238 Temp 75* and 1200 Stall RT... .084 60ft... 2.238 1/8... 9.888 @ 71.307 1/4... 15.51 @ 86.104 Temp 75* and 1200 Stall RT... .265 (oops) 60ft... 2.244 1/8... 9.912 @ 71.247 1/4... 15.551 @ 85.784 Temp 77* and No Stall RT... .203 (oops again) 60ft... 2.257 1/8... 9.987 @ 70.373 1/4... 15.672 @ 85.167 Temp 75* and 1200 Stall RT... .075 60ft... 2.250 1/8... 9.947 @ 71.053 1/4... 15.591 @ 85.957 Temp 73* and 1200 Stall RT... .071 60ft... 2.258 1/8... 9.908 @ 71.558 1/4... 15.504 @ 86.665 Then we started racing and i had one freak one where i hit 15.71 and i was in it the whole way, never got on the brakes at all. There was also 40 minute break inbetween so i dont know what happend there. Once i get some money for some mods im gonna get a volant CAI and a Magnaflow Cat-back.
  19. Yeah i just realized that that 16.5 is probably pretty slow and hopefull ill be quicker. The weather is suppose to be in the 70's with a chance of rain around midnight so hopefully the air will be good during the racing. There is no going around the water box, unless they moved it back from last year, but there are guard rails next to it and a bridge that you have to drive under. Later at night is when the track actually gets worse and so does the air. At the end of the track there is a little stream that goes under a little bridge and it gets really humid and the track gets really slippery. As for WI getting hot, last year when i took my Formula to the track (bone stock A4 LS1) it was about 90* and about 90% humidity, my best run of the night was a 13.8 @ 101, which is really sad. But im excited to race my truck, ive been drag racing since i was 8 and its been an entire year since ive raced something.
  20. So this Friday the local track is having a High school night and im planning on taking my truck out there as long as it doesnt rain. So I have a couple ?'s. From experience the track is going to have no prep at all and its probably going to be hot and humid so im not expecting outstanding times either. And the truck is going to have full weight along with close to a full tank of gas. Should i adjust the tire pressure? All the tires? ( The track is only 5 miles away so i wont be driving home for long on low PSI) I have to drive through the water box there is no going around it, what should i do? Should i stall it up and adjust according to track prep? (1000, 1200, etc) This is all i can think of right now so if there is something else I should do let me know, but im going to guess no better than 16.5 in the 1/4.
  21. ^I'm not insured on the vette because of that reason, they wont insure me and i have a perfectly clean record, no speeding no nothing. I am insured on the truck and its ridiculous.
  22. Thanks for the comments guys. Just so everyone knows the story of how i got these ill let you know. I had a v6 camaro that i sold to buy part of a firebird formula (2001) then i traded the formula 3 months later for the Z06. The way i got the SS was that i work at a car dealership and i found a GMC sonoma ZR2 that i bought for using during the winter months in Wisconsin. Well it was gettin up there in miles so we started lookin for a full size truck, silverado, siera, etc. So it just happened that we found this SS just a couple miles from our house and the dealership took my GMC in on trade and gave us a pretty good deal on the SS. So i do not personally own these cars, my dad does, but they are mine to use and drive. My dad has his own, a Hummer H2 and his own C6 vette. Also I just graduated High School a couple weeks ago and will start college at UW-Oshkosh in the fall. Another reason i have these cars is because i worked my ass off in school getting good grades and also on the football field and helped my team to an undefeated season, also i worked my ass off in track were i set numerous records for my school and the conference throwing shot put and disc, i will also be going to college to throw the hammer, disc, and indoor weight throw. My dad has no problem buying me these types of cars because i know how to take care of them. Ive been drag racing since i was 8 and i moved up from there, we just recently sold our dragster that we raced. That fastest i got it to go was 7.9 something @ 167mph. I think thats about it, if you have any more questions let me know i can probably answer them. Also im not one of those kids that think because daddy bought them a corvette that im a big **** and know more than you. I'm actually a pretty nice kid and respect those around me. Alright now im really done. lol.
  23. Yeah my neighbors think im weird and probably hate me when i come home at like 1 or 2am driving down the road in 2nd gear. The mods for the vehicles will come once i graduate from college, which is a long time from now
  24. Thats the second thing ive read with John Hennessey getting in fights on the internet, he always gets crushed and everyone laughs in his face. But how professional it is to get in fights on the internet about a stupid little thing, obviously this guy has nothing better to do with his life.
