That's not good. Sounds like you might have scraped the insulation off of a wire in there.

I paid $269. At the time I bought them, they had two sets. They were marking things down an additional 10% each week on Thursday. I went back in the next Thursday and the other set was still there for $229! Of course if I had waited, both sets would have been gone. I got the JL Audio 250/1 for $199. The good thing is HiFiBuys (Tweeter) is authorized resellers for JL and Focal.

Adding Amp to Stock Speakers
malibujeff replied to aelancaster's topic in Radio/Electronics/Security
I have the same amp. It has more than enough power to blow the stock speakers. Of course if you can exercise some self control, they may last for a little while. Don't think I could. I suggest you forget the rear speakers and use the amp as a 3 channel amp to power the fronts and a sub. You would see a huge improvement even if you only spend $100-$150 on some good 6 1/2" components. Oh, and don't forget some sound deadening on the doors like RAAMmat BXT. -

Great Pictures. Thanks for posting them. I like the orange Malibu. -
OK, I removed the molding over the weekend. Here is a picture. What do you think?

Some of their stores are closing in Atlanta. They're called HiFi Buys here. I got a pretty good deal on a JL Audio 250/1 and set of Focal Polyglass 165V2S 6 1/2" components. Most of the car audio is gone, but they did still have some subs and amps last week when I was in there.

The power cable I'm using is 4 gauge wire.

I'm about to install a couple of amps. One for the front speakers and one for the sub. I have 4/0 power cable I am going to use to go from the battery to a distribution block. My question is where did you guys run the power cable to get it through the firewall? Did you drill a new hole? I took a quick look today and did not see a good place to route the cable. I did see a rubber seal just under the steering column and the brake booster where the main harness goes through the firewall, but I don't think the 4/0 wire will fit in there with the harness. Whats the right way to do this? Thanks, Jeff

Hey All, I don't have a SS, but I have a 2006 Silverado. I just added these 2007 Tahoe wheels.
