  1. It is sad to say that I just signed the title over for my Sierra. It is going to a good home though(my brother). Right now I don't own a vehicle. I am borrowing my parents 04 Zq8 Colorado for the mean time. I will probably be going back to another Silverado/Sierra. I really want to look into getting a crew cab, but I don't want to downgrade to a 5.3. So I possibly might be getting a 05 and up Sierra Denali. Not leaving here though. I plan on modding my next truck so I will be sticking around to learn stuff. Oh and if you are wondering I didn't have to get rid of it. It is just something I decided to do.
  2. I believe yours should have the sport suspension. My truck had the sunroof also as you can see in my signature.
  3. Also I think the sport suspension one only comes with a 10 bolt rearend while the one's with the tow package come with a 14 bolt.
  4. There are three different 2wd Vortecmaxes from what I understand. One crew cab with 17's, tow package and 3.73's. Second one being a ext cab with 17's, tow package, and 4.10's. And finally a ext cab with 20's, sport suspension package, and 3.73's. The ones with the tow package come with shock stiffening button and the sport suspension package comes with a traction control button.
  5. Was getting on a interstate on ramp tonight and got behind a black Dodge Ram. It had tailpipes coming straight out the back and the rear bumper was notched around them and also it didn't look like he had leaf springs. I assume this is a new Hemi? Anyhow we were both merging on to the interstate while I stomp on it to go around him. Well he stomps on it too. I slowly pull up to him and then we both let off. He then stomps on it again so I do the same a split second later and I started pulling on him. I couldn't see him, but I bet his wasn't very happy that he was getting pulled on by a 5 year old truck. I Was kind of surprised I pulled on him. Don't these new Hemi's have like 390hp?
  6. I don't understand the title? What is 11 years later?
  7. Only tips I have is that it can be hard to get the fittings on before the bends in the tubing and also to make sure you have a couple 22mm wrenches with you. I ended up using a hacksaw to cut the tubing right before the flange due to the tubing cutters not getting close enough. I then deburred the lines and blew them out with compressed air.
  8. Sorry for the wait guys. I installed the lines a couple weeks ago, but had issues getting the pictures off of my camera. One week after installation I had a issue with a oil leak from one of the fittings. It was a hot day and I floored it and the oil pressure went around 80 and one an fitting started leaking. I tightened the fittings and have had no more issues. Overall it was a smooth installation. This is what the factory barb looks like after cutting the crimp off. 9. I now have everything I need. Now I just need to wait for the weekend! By sierravmax at 2011-04-05
  10. My oil cooler lines have been leaking for quite a while now. I have looked into buying new ones from the dealer or getting new ones custom made. I was leaning towards getting new ones custom made due to the factory ones not lasting long before they leaked. I just can't see myself throwing down $140 for something that is going to leak again. Plus it seems to be a very common problem for the factory lines to leak at the crimps. I have contacted a few hydraulic line shops in my area and some said they couldn't make them and others couldn't give me a straight answer and sent me somewhere else. So I have decided to repair them myself. The factory steel lines will stay in place, but I am cutting the flexible part off right at the crimps. I went to the Jegs website and found all the parts I will need to adapt the steel lines to -8an fittings and braided line. I decided to go with the Jegs brand due to cost. I also decided to step it up to the poly braided 350 hose due to it being black and matching the fittings. So there are a few things I still could of done to keep cost lower. Here are the links to what I bought. This is the hose that I bought. I determined that 3 feet would do the job. Click here I bought four adapter fittings to get the steel line to adapt to a -8an fitting. Click here I bought four straigh -8an hose end fittings so I can install the flexible hose. Click here For total I spent $100 which includes handling and it should be right at my doorstep tomorrow. In my opinion I saved money over the factory lines and have peace of mind that I won't have any leaks in the future. I will be installing these next weekend when I change my oil.
  11. Thanks guys. I think it is fixed now. The reason I found the clamp off the reservoir is because my truck started running hot last week and the fans kicked into high speed. I fixed that and topped it off. What I think happened is I had a air pocket in the system and it took a while to work it out. I topped it off yesterday and now it is staying level. I am watching like a hawk though.
  12. Thanks man! I had a great b-day! Girlfriend made me breakfast, took me out to dinner, and made me a cake with 31 candles. lol
  13. Are you talking about a compression test? The actual coolant system seems to be holding the pressure.
  14. Was it where the pump mounts to the block?
  15. So I have had to top off my engine coolant for quite a while now. Well last week I found a leak where the bottom hose hooks up to the reservoir. Turns out that the dealership never reinstalled the clamp when they changed my water pump 30,000 miles ago. I actually found the clamp dangling around at the bottom of the hose. I installed it and topped off the fluid again. Went to check it this past Sunday and it was low again. So I filled it to the cold line on the reservoir. I checked it again today and it was low again. I don't see any apparent leaks and can't figure out where the fluid is going. Any ideas? Also the front of my engine has developed a squeak within the past couple of weeks? Do you think this could be the waterpump or just a pulley? I can get video if needed. Thanks in advance David
  16. Mr. P was wrong about the exhaust because you have a Vmax.
  17. My parents have a 93 Z28 with 215,000 miles and this car has not been babyed at all. The car still pulls strong to this day. It is on it's 3rd optispark and has gone through multiple transmission mounts. Otherwise it is a great car.
  18. Check out the truck on the left in this video.
  19. My question is how did you get out. Climb out the window? lol
  20. Yeah I have had weird shit happen to me. First off I was passing a Avalanche on the middle lane of a 3 land Interstate (I was speeding, but not too bad). Anyhow the Avalanche started changing lanes on me when I was next to him and I moved over into the other lane some to avoid him. Anyhow he kept on coming and smashed his mirror into my bedside. State Trooper was behind us a ways back and charged us both with wreckless driving. He said we were trying to run each other off the road. I called BS on him, but he didn't listen. A $1000 later the ticket was paid and my truck was fixed. Next one was on my Birthday. I was out eating with a bunch of friends and came back to my truck and my passenger signal was popped out and the grill had a tiny crack in it. There were no scuff marks whatsoever so I just popped the signal back in. The crack was under the headlight on the inside of the grill so it was no big deal. Next night I'm driving the truck and noticed my passenger beam was bouncing on the road. Went and checked it out and noticed the top headlight adjustment screw broke off the headlight. My only guess is that someone elbowed my truck? Final one was 2 months ago. I was headed out of my apartment to go back to work from lunch. I look across the parking lot where my truck is backed into a space up to a sidewalk. There is a freaking Ford Taurus halfway on the sidewalk perpendicular to my truck. I started noticing that my truck wasn't in the parking spot straight anymore so I look to see whats going on. Turns out the lady couldn't figure out what gear it was in gassed it and went onto the side walk and hit the rear tire of my truck. There was some slight body damage to my truck, but it isn't very noticeable. My conclusion: It seems like if you drive something nice it becomes a magnet for disaster. If you drive a pos everyone stays clear of you.
  21. Yeah I am just worried about putting more OEM lines on and replacing them down the road again. Seems like this is a common problem with these trucks. I believe there is a place near where I live that could rebuild the lines better for cheaper.
  22. Your muffler sounds like a deal, but I am waiting to get something in two weeks when I get my next paycheck.
  23. Would you guys go with OEM oil cooler lines? I priced them out today at the dealer. They are $140 plus a $6 block gasket.
  24. That is weird. My factory fans are loud as crap when they are on high. Mine only go on high in the middle of the Summer. And that is only if I'm sitting in traffic for a while or if I just shut the motor off for a short amount of time and started it back up.
