  1. Installed the Corsa exhaust, didn't realize it but part of the system hangs rather low so need to climb under again and see if i have something flipped. Sounds great, pretty happy overall. Got it ceramic coated, but its dirty this time of year still so no pics. You'd think at 27k miles the paint can't be bad (it wasn't) but damn did it clean up the swirls and a few marks. Ordered a blend mount but got the wrong part, so that's on return and needs swapped.

  2. Thought I'd add these brake flex hose part #'s for the drum brake SS trucks (2006/2007 classic, as well as the RWD-optioned 2005's) as I don't see them listed in here, and deciphering all the crap on Rock's website was a bit of a pain. I spent a lot of time staring at the list before I pulled the trigger and was still worried when they showed up if they'd be the correct hoses. Installed them yesterday and fit was perfect. Front left GM Genuine # 1761908 (19366695) - identical to original hose except the bend where it goes to the caliper looks different, but it fit with no issue. Front right GM Genuine # 1761909 (19366696) - identical to original hose except the bend where it goes to the caliper looks different, but it fit with no issue. Rear center GM Genuine # 1761411 (19366712) - identical to original hose including comes complete with the frame bracket. Looks like it's Chinesium though and this one actually came with an ACDelco label on it instead of GM Genuine.

  3. Does anyone have recommendations for insurance companies for 2003 Silverado SS? I am having a hard time finding a new carrier that will will cover its value. I have all labor and hardware receipts for the mods from 2018/2019. They total close to $25k. So I figure it needs to be insured for $45,000k. Thoughts?

  7. Just noticed you are from Minnesota. That truck must have been kept indoors during the winter. I have seen SS's rusted up quite a bit from those salted roads. Check out this thread where a guy restored a SS (hard to believe they are old enough to need restorations now... )

  9. Seller is BS'ing you. May not know he is, possibly previous owner BS'd him and he just didn't ask anyone else like you are. Many SS's are theft recoveries by now so maybe that was one part that wasn't replaced with the correct one, could also be the original cluster went bad and they just put whatever they could get in there. Without more info it's hard to know for sure. You can probably doubt the mileage shown is correct. Richard

  10. Was bored one day & begun searching to see if it was possible to get a copy of the original window sticker for my SSS. Read thru some threads on other forums & was able to get a copy of the original invoice related to my SSS from GM Archives. Not exactly what I wanted, but still kinda cool to have. It would be neat to see one day people being able to reproduce the original for those of us that don’t have the originals. I know the Corvette Museum offers build sheets & window sticker repro. as I’ve gotten copies for my Vette from them.

  11. So I cut the bottom section all the way out. And once I attach the honeycomb it will be flush with the Red Trim. My other grille should be here in a couple of days then I will work on the top part and figure out how to attach the honeycomb to the center section. COST SO FAR. ONE NEW RED GRILLE $180 EBAY TWO DONOR 03-04 GRILLES $100 TIME ABOUT 7 HRS. SO FAR.

  12. Update, ok I had to wait for another donor grille and found one at another wrecking yard. In my area there are not alot of 03-07 Silverado's at the local wrecking yards to find the honeycomb grille's or even the 03-04 type. Anyway I'm still waiting on my other 07 honeycomb grille to show up for the top area. On the bottom area I wanted to have the honeycomb as flush as possible with the grille outer trim instead of this, I wanted this, Which will look like this, and the grey trim ring will be gone. So I needed to cut more out of the mesh area to take that away. It will look like this when put together. next post.

  13. I have some random pics, of the direction I'm going. 1. The 2007 lower grille area is just a 1/4 off so it will not fill the bottom gap. Plus to use it so the bowtie area is match it is bent (formed) or (curved) in the wrong direction and maybe able to be heated up to fit properly. yet I have not tried that yet. Because I have 2 2007 grilles I'm taking apart to fit in the bottom and top part. The top part does not fit all the way to the top corner so I'm going to adapt extra honeycomb to cover the hole upper grille area. Still have no figured out how to attach the honeycomb pieces yet, working on it. It looks to hard to cut the honeycomb and adapt it back to were the mesh was cut out, so I'm sanding down that area and will paint it black and attach the honey behind it. I did take my grille apart to do the 2007 insert you don't have too. Center piece comes apart and I cut out the mesh section. 2007 grille I cut off the and trimed so they are flat. This is just a mock up for the bottom section and I'm working on the top section.
