tahoe341
2 wheel drive built on k-model frame (same as yours) with torsion bar front end. 17" front rotors drums on rear. Should be good for tire wear on take off. Bob

dcairns
Do any of those changes include forced induction????? ;) Seems odd to use a 4WD chassis and only do 2WD, other than it is easy to lower the front.
tahoe341
No plans that I know of for forced induction. It should still be a good tire smoker though. How much does it cost for new tires ?
variant
why would they go backwards to drums?

PotbellyJoe
All of the Gen1 Lightnings were built on 4wd frams since there were more rigid... Heck those things could pull .88g's on the skid so something was working correctly... Those 17 in. rotors would make you forget that you had rear drums darn quickly... -Joe
SSilverado60
I dont know about that info. . . . Rear drums???? there is no way they will do that. The 4x4 chassis I couldnt see happening either but who knows, they may change all the trucks to that to simplify things. The 2wd 1500 is the only coil sprung front end truck that chevy has anymore, I wouldnt doubt it if they tried to drop it completely so they can save money. Then they will only have to build one chassis as well.
