Blown 346
I was waiting inline for food and had to shut the truck off to order. Started it back up and it would almost start then died on me twice and reduced engine power came on and the check engine light. Tried to give it some gas and the damn truck wouldnt move. Had to put it in neutral and park it and let it sit off for a minute. Started it back up with no issue, and it ran fine but still had the light on. here is what I got. P0120 Throttle pedal/position sensor/switch circuit P0650 Malfunction indicator lamp control circuit U0107 Lost communication with Throttle Actuator control module. I cleared them and the truck didnt want to start again, it would fire then die and that was it. Then it started again. So I took the throttle body plug and removed it and cleaned it up and put electrical grease on the plug and plugged it back in. Did it again. I cleared the codes, drove it and it was fine. I have read it could be the throttle body which I hope its not as its far from stock and cheap. Vacuum line, computer. Have no idea where to start. This truck is sucking me dry and I just had to dump money on a new trans for it. Any help would be appreciated. Mike

Aldofashow
Ive gotten it with a low battery before but Ive also seen videos where people had a loose wire in the plug and gotten it thats the best I could suggest
someotherguy
With all those codes I would suspect a flaky ground issue somewhere, I'm no expert on these trucks as I fortunately haven't had to mess with mine that much yet - but obviously those three circuits aren't just spontaneously bad all on their own. Multiple alleged failures you need to find the common thread and that's usually going to be a ground. Richard
Super_Chevy33
I chased REP problems for over a year, I rewired the TB harness and switched TB's all of these didn't help, It would go back into limp mode every couple of weeks. After pulling the intake manifold and cleaning the electrical grounds by the valley cover and back of the block and adding dielectric grease the issue has not come back up in over 2 years. Blown 346
I already checked the ground from the firewall to the head. Thats fine and cleaned up. I cant change TB's as Mine is aftermarket and specific to my setup. Got another code though and it was for the gas pedal switch. So I got one and am going to install the switch and see if it works. someotherguy
There's a lot more grounds than just that one, I would highly recommend you go over all of them before throwing parts at it. To you, that code makes you think a part is bad. To me, adding yet another code to a growing list tells me you have ground problems. A little research will show you that people have thrown a lot of throttle bodies and pedals at this problem and not solved it. Blown 346
the rest of the codes are gone now after I checked the ground. I charged the battery already last night. I only get this code for the pedal switch. If It doesnt work I can take it back as my budy works at the parts store. Its like a test to try for this. The grounds under the truck at the frame are good and clean as well. I read those have caused this too.
someotherguy
Can't beat that return policy
EXGM
If the problem started after the second trans replacement I would bet something was left loose or not installed (ground)....... its possible that pedal sensor went out as a fluke but I doubt it....... Blown 346
Ill went over the grounds that are under the truck that can cause the issue, those were cleaned up. did both under the hood as well. The problem isnt happening as often like it used to. It would do this like every other key cycle. Now I havent had it all day.

Blown 346
No rain, The truck doesnt see rain its garaged and only goes out on nice days. I also have a catch can already. The problem has been gone for days, but now my Aero Force gauge isnt reading right after this. Always something.
*LB*Intimidator06
I would say start with the simple things like: spark plugs and wires check those first and if you have cat make sure they are not clogged.. Has it stall out before this?
Blown 346
Plugs and wires were just done, I have cat deletes. It has never done this before. I have never had this happen out of the 3 SSS's I have had. Edited May 29, 2018 by Blown 346 (see edit history)
