UNA_06SS
Hello, I have a 06 ISS that I purchased 2 years ago. Now, when I purchased it, it looked lower to me, which looks good. My question is how do I know how much of a drop it has in the front and rear? Reason I'm asking is because it has Bilstein shocks and they feel rough when driving and also because I changed out my stock 20" wheels to 26" . I would like to change the shocks to maybe Belltech? so I can have a smoother ride, but before I can change them I would need to know the drop correct? This way I can figure out what other shocks to replace them with. Thanks your help!

Did you have the factory size tires on the 20's? if so put them back on and measure from the top of tire to the bottom of the wheel well. Let us know what the measurement is. Or you can look under the truck for any shackles from a lowering kit.
UNA_06SS
Thanks I will have to do that this weekend to measure, but with the 26's I have on now, my buddy asked me to measure from top of the tire to the bottom of the wheel well and it measures the same for front and back. It's clearance is 3 1/2 inches, it looks like it was just leveled?
Blown 346
I agree, It was leveled. If my truck was stock height i would measure and let you know. Maybe someone can chime in and measure with a stock height SSS.
UNA_06SS
I contacted Belltech directly and mentioned the same thing to them and they told me that the Intimidator came lowered from the factory and they recommend me getting the Belltech Street Performance Shocks Part #9512. Has anyone used these?
matslp488
Ive had those shocks for about a year now... no complaints they dont ride too firm or too soft just great for my taste... I got a 2-2 drop after getting those shocks and theyre pretty good...
UNA_06SS
Great! thanks for the input. Really appreciate it! Do you think it will affect after installing the new shocks the 3 1/2 inch clearance? I would like for it to stay the same and not go higher or lower. matslp488
The shocks wont lower your truck by themselves they will just make the ride better... Im sorry for the confusion of my answer I meant I actually put lowering shackles and spindles after installing these shocks and it still rides great... UNA_06SS
okay thanks! I asked Belltech the same question and they said that the shocks will not alter the ride height. So I'm guessing it should stay the same as it is now? lol I shall see. Thanks for all your help.
