Jstump18
Had my ss for about 4 years now , love the truck. Whoever had it before me took the stock wheels off and put these ugly 22"s...long story short rides like hell. Looks awful ... trying to get some options and maybe see pictures of after market wheels ( 20"s , I want to have the truck ride like it's suppose to )... preferably black.. also I like the look the look of the gloss black tbss wheels but from what I read they won't fit ? Thanks in advance .
EXGM
20's ride best for sure.... I think they make TBSS replica rims that fit our trucks. Do a search.... I think the one guy on here sells them. He has an online store... I think his name is Tony.
Downeast Johnny
Tony is the man for wheels and suspension. Lots of guys have gone with 22" TBSS replicas. They look good on the SS trucks. http://www.tbssowners.com/store/
Infernis
I've been looking at these personally https://factoryreproductions.com/shop/gmc/chevy-1500-ss-truck/
TxSilverado361
These trucks look good with their original SS wheels, as well as the TBSS style. I can't find a picture, but someone had put the newer model wheels on a black SS. The wheel option ck160, in black machined finish, and I don't remember if it was a 22 or 24 wheel, but it looked good!
someotherguy
What size and brand/model of 22" tire is on it though, and what pressure you running them at? Shocks in good shape? I just ask because I've got 22's on my SS, 285/45/22 (OEM size on the new trucks I think) Nitto 421Q and running them around 40psi, truck is really comfortable and doesn't bug me at all. Then again what I have to compare it to for what I consider a "rough ride" is an F450SD work truck that rides like it has solid mount suspension with no springs at all and 90psi in the load range G tires. I put a set of Centerline Stingray 20's on my wife's SS, running stock size 275/55/20 in a Toyo Proxes ST II, rides nice. No complaints outta her. Amazi
If you're looking for factory 20s, newer Chevy ltz trucks look just like the ss wheels might even be the same.
Blown 346
I went thru a company that have me a killer dealer on wheels and tires mounted and balanced ready to go. They aren’t oem as I didn’t care, since where only black. Otherwise the stock wheels go for a pretty penny.
psualumni
I have been looking for a new set of OEM silver metallic wheels forever. I finally resigned to the fact that reconditioned OEM was as close as I'm going to get. I have had to buy form three different sources and still only have three wheels. It seems that even the reconditioned wheels at a fair price sell very fast. You may be able to find one or two on eBay, but the price is very inflated due to demand. What's the matter with you? You trying to make us crazy? Just kidding. Couple of nice ones you've got there.
someotherguy
Thanks...hey I try to pick good ones and then replicate previous successes. Before we had a pair of SS's, we had a pair of SRT8's. Mama didn't like the Magnum (as seen parked in the driveway just ahead of her SS) so we let it go. I still have my 300 though! I'll have to admit I liked the looks of that Magnum when it came out. I liked that chopped and lowered look. Badazz. Friend of mine had one of the earlier 300's . Pretty cool ride. Maybe time to throw that Camaro or Vette in in the mix. I would probably help you get out of that Intimidator. Ha
