Morphdingus Posted December 18, 2017 Report Share Posted December 18, 2017 Oil pressure gauge stays at 80 when running now today it ran just fine going to work. now when truck hits 2000rpm the gauge drops to 0 and then goes back up to 80 when the rpms drop. 0patience Posted December 19, 2017 Report Share Posted December 19, 2017 Could be the oil gauge stepper motor or the oil pressure sensor. But you can pull the oil pressure sensor and hook up a hose and mechanical gauge to confirm what the oil pressure actually is.The stepper motor and the sensor, along with the sensor connector are known to fail with similar symptoms. After removing the oil pressure sensor and hooking up my gauges it turned out that the sensor had just failed. My ss is back up and running!
