Diamondss
The trucks looking a bit tired and I think I need to replace both front fenders. Where is the best place to source them? I'm looking for better quality pieces, not necessarily the cheapest option. Is LMC truck any good? I live in Canada so sourcing originals is going to be difficult without rust issues. someotherguy
LMC just sells what you can get elsewhere cheaper. It's going to be aftermarket stuff marked up higher...which I would not waste money on aftermarket body parts. Go with GM just shop around the different online dealers for your best price, just don't forget to include shipping. Something I didn't know but just saw this while looking the parts up on a dealer site. Apparently there's different fenders for US built vs. Mexico built. You should be able to tell which your truck is by the 1st digit in the VIN. 1=US, 3=Mexico. The fenders for a US built truck are literally over 4x cheaper than the Mexico for some reason... anyway the ones for the US built truck you'll pay about $175 USD, not sure what your options are in Canada. A lot of the online dealers have kind of high shipping. You might try Summit Racing; they sell the same part #'s and at least in the US you can get free shipping; maybe they have more reasonable rates for Canada than some of the dealers. EXGM
FYI.... all the SSS were built in Canada. When it comes to replacement sheet metal you get what you pay for. Cheap knock off sheet metal will fit like crap. I've never tried CAPA sheet metal.... ive tried bumper covers and had so so luck. CAPA stands for certified auto part association they claim same fit form and function as OE. I disagree the best is going to be Genuine OEM parts. Places like LMC mostly sell repop crap if they do sell OE parts they are buying from a dealer and marking up, go direct and find a local dealer who may deal with you. If not find an online place.... but I'm not aware of any GM part places in Canada but immsure there is one.....
