Harness behind engine chewed

Hi.I have a 2003 Silverado SS. I was looking for some help with info on the wiring harness that is coming from behind the top of engine on the pass side and looks to be going to the ac aluminum can. It then also goes to the back toward the frame. I have not full traced it yet. Sorry I cannot post pics. It has been chewed up along with the firewall pad by some pesky squirrels. Does anyone have a part number for the harness and the firewall pad. I checked the internet for wiring diagrams with no luck. Truck will run but I will not turn anything on for fear of a short, especially the ac. Looks to be 8-10 wires in the convoluted tubing harness and 1-2 have been chewed thru. My oil press gauge is not working. It was working fine until I notice this. Do not know if oil press gauge is not working due to the common stepper motor failure. I caught this problem when I had no oil pressure reading and that's when I saw the harness chewed. Squirrel chewed thru the harness right above the pass side valve cover at the firewall. Truck only has 24,000 miles, I crank and move it once a week to keep things up. I drive it on occasion. This has me really down. I try to keep the truck nice. Any info, diagrams, tips on install of harness and firewall pad, part numbers for replacement would be much appreciated. Thanks to all for the great and helpful info all these years. Please keep the info and pics coming.

You have my condolences Bill. That's got to be discouraging, especially considering the low mileage on your truck.

I went and looked at my truck to see what your up against. Not a lot of room to work on wiring back there.

You can open up the loom and repair all the wires you can see are damaged. Could be your best bet will be to go talk to the parts people at the busiest dealership you can find. (They will have the most experienced parts man). Most everything will be view-able on computer. (Give them your VIN and they will have info for your specific truck.) You may be able to get an idea as to what all the damaged harness attaches to and where it runs from the pictures as well.

I did a google and came up with quite a few images of wiring schematics for the 03 but it could take a lot of looking to find the exact harness section your looking for.

Best luck and keep us posted.

The harness on that side of the motor drops down and plugs into the pass. side O2 sensors. The plugs for the oil sender, knock sensors, and cam sensor are all right next to each other on the back of the block behind the intake. There are a couple grounds there too. Those little bastard red squirrels can get into some pretty small spaces. They love to set up shop on the back of the intake on my wifes grand prix. The car never sits for more than 24hrs at a time, but I have to evict them every couple weeks anyway.
