someotherguy
So while cruising craigslist I saw an '03 2500 with the 8.1, extended cab, and immediately thought to myself: hey self, you should buy that, drop it, SS clone it, tune a good chunk of the torque management out and go roast some tires. Does that make me a bad person? Ya ya, old tech big block, etc. not an LS. But I dig 'em. Richard

someotherguy
Yep definitely heard of Raylar. There's a few people out there that dig their 8.1's, I believe the early years did have some oil consumption problems. That '03 appears to have already sold, despite the premium price they had on it. I think the toughest parts of that idea I had would be getting it low enough, and finding some 8 lug wheels that could tuck in and not look goofy. Richard I agree you would have a tough time finding 8 lugs that would look right. Most guys that have 8 lugs lift the truck sky high with big ol tires cause they have a small member.... lol. chpspecial
That's what towed your wife's SSS to Houston. Ask Joe about it. Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk
zachm89
I know the struggles of finding decent looking 8 lug wheels that would look and fit well on a lowered 3/4 ton I want to lower my Dmax more than it is now (just shackles in the rear and keys turned down in front to level it out) but I cant find a good tire size to use with a 3/5-4/6 drop on the 17" wheels that I have now. At least not in an E load range. Not everyone wants to lift the bigger trucks, haha.
