DIY Catch Can

After much research, I decided that these engines can benefit from a catch can and that I could make an effective one while saving a few bucks. A lot of credit to guys on LS1tech and Morphs on the Grrrr8 forum. I purchased an Ebay 'catch can' and modified it with parts from my local Lowes store. All said and done, I have right around $50 bucks invested in this set up including the purchase of the catch can.

Here's the Ebay can I purchased:post-22896-0-94818300-1490153633_thumb.jpg

I then made a template out of cardboard to get dimensions: post-22896-0-04906700-1490153868_thumb.jpg

And then turned that into the buffer/baffle using .025" steel: post-22896-0-32481500-1490153936_thumb.jpg

Added an inlet tube using copper pipe attached to the inlet port: post-22896-0-65449300-1490154000_thumb.jpg

Used the ole trusty JB weld to install and seal buffer/baffle in the can: post-22896-0-64366900-1490154093_thumb.jpg

And added stainless steel scrubber material in the outlet side to promote condensation of oil vapor: post-22896-0-60077800-1490154133_thumb.jpg

I attached my catch can with some spare brackets, nuts and bolts I had laying around to the alternator bracket and ran my 3/8" PVC hose.
