Bouch252
Is it possible maybe the stepper motor died out? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Downeast Johnny
That will pucker the old bung hole. Good point John makes about the stepper motor. I don't know how good this info is but could be worth a try. https://www.reference.com/vehicles/test-oil-pressure-sensor-77527791d29ae2
Muggs
Prob is the stepper motor,,,,, does the engine still sound normal? Any tapping or knocking sounds?
poopnewton
When my sensor went out my oil pressure was reading 80 psi all the time. If you have a ELM327 and the Torque app on your phone I would think you could still get a good oil pressure reading on that if it's the stepper motor. monster1213
I am by no means a wiring expert, but with the key on: wouldn't the gauge max out when you unplug the connection from the sending unit. Likewise, you should be able to use a multi-meter/probe and ground the 12v source on the harness side and the gauge should go to 0 psi. This would rule out faulty gauge/stepper motor and point the problem to a bad sending unit. Somebody else feel free to chime in.
RockHead
I put a new oil filter in and start of the truck and the took oil filteroutand it has oil in it so that tells me the pump is good , but now the gauges also working again. jsanders347
When my sending unit went out the needle pegged. I'd bet a cluster issue. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

SilveradoJakee
Unplugged it and it should max out and then fall to zero. If the gauge doesnt move, its a stepper motor.
