Alternator swap...problem

Not sure if the plugs were the same on the higher amp version. From what I can find for that year it needs to be a four pin wide plug with rounded ends..... Maybe ask place you bought from if the higher amp interchanges.....?

You have to make sure the alternator you are upgrading to has the same number of pigtail connecting pins as your old alternator. The bolt pattern should be the same. i.e. I purchased a high amp alternator for my 97 K1500 and swapped it right in my 2004 SSS because the wiring harness was the same. Send your alternator back and purchase one with the same pin/pigtail setup on the wiring harness for your truck.
