Alan7474
I was wondering if anyone else's suspension squeaks on an 03 Silverado SS and a mechanic said it was the front sway bar but is trying to charge me $1000

poopnewton
It must be that new gold plated sway bar I was reading about.
jsanders347
Try spraying the bushings with wd40 and see if it goes away. If it does they need replacing. Wouldn't hurt to hit all the grease zerks will you're under there. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
poopnewton
In all seriousness if a little grease doesn't fix things and it is in fact the sway bar, you should be able to get new sway bar bushings and end links for under $50.00. It's a simple install that anyone should be able to do themselves. There are several old threads on this site with part numbers and everything. The front swaybar has two bushings that mount against the frame and two end links which connect both ends of the swaybar to the lower control arm. In most cases the swaybar itself does not need to be replaced only the bushings and/or end links.

Nail on the head, personally seen a vehicle, explorer truck to be exact, that actually tried stuffing cardboard between bushing and frame... I would say maybe a little WD-40 in there as best as possible, then drive where you typically hear the squeaking.
