ttcfan4476
Just bought the truck and the drivers heat in the seat doesn't work. I took the snap on computer and forced it on and it works fine, but the door switch won't turn the heat on. I know it works why wont the switch turn it on? If I hit back only it stays on for 20 seconds, if I hit both it stays on for 5 seconds.
1BAD2K
Most of the time the heating element has a small break and is shorting out. The truck turns it off when it senses this.

1BAD2K
You could also try to test voltage. I'm not sure what it should be using, but I'm sure someone has posted it somewhere.
1981evildisco
Probably a short, as the seat foam collapses there are points on the element that crease causing shorts. The system constantly checks itself for shorts and shuts down as a result. However I will say that the Seat Heater control module(intergrated into the driver window switch) has a tendency to fail due to water getting into the switch(and humidity).
