houston05tx
Has anybody replaced their old leaf spring Bushing with Energy Suspension Rear Leaf Spring Bushings? Is it worth it? Or should I replace them with OEM? http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/3.2141
Downeast Johnny
I used a fair number of energy susp bushings and body mounts on my 86 Sierra 4X4. I like their stuff a lot. Firm and positive, especially over old worn rubber. The leaf spring kit is prob a lot more money than OEM replacements. The bushings on my 03 are still in decent shape so you gotta figure new OEM would last pretty well for another ten years or so. On the other hand; If your looking for Project........ The red stuff looks cool too.
Aldofashow
I used the energy control arm bushings and they didn't last long and the metal sleeve rusted to the bolt and kept loosening the bolts changed back to stock bushings could've been the New England winter road salt that caused it just my experience. 1981evildisco
Anyone else? I'm looking into this as well!
norcalx83
Just did mine on Saturday. Positive feel in the rear now. I suggest removing the leaf springs so the you have complete access to the old bushings. The black ones have graphite vs. the red ones.
