someotherguy Posted June 15, 2016 Report Share Posted June 15, 2016 My '06 came with the Bose setup but now has an aftermarket Pioneer deck installed. Looks like it used to have an aftermarket amp for some subs installed as well but those were removed before I got it (wires still running along console/floor.) I'm still learning about putting aftermarket decks into a GMT800, but it seems they didn't bother with the steering wheel controls adapter as the buttons don't do anything on this Pioneer. They did install the adapter for the door chimes, because those do work, although they're a whole lot louder than I would like. Anyway on to the issue: this morning I noticed while driving the chime would attempt to sound twice but was chopped off, like it played for less than a millisecond instead of the normal chime length. It would do this every couple of minutes. Seatbelt fastened and the warning light for it is off, so it wasn't a seatbelt error. What do you guys think? At any rate today it's behaving, go figure. Richard Yeah, more than likely it isnt a problem. But without that box, you can't read OBDII, or receive warnings from my best understanding. So its a chance. My first module went crazy like that. One day it was fine, one day it wasn't. Like everything else, they make them in high grade and low grade. I just installed a pioneer touchscreen yesterday in my SS with the PAC RP5-GM11 adapter. The chime module even with this 100 dollar adapter sounds cheap. I do however recommend the PAC module...
