bullgod
Was driving home the other day and felt resistance when I let off the gas. Stopped at a gas station and saw the passenger side front was smoking. Drove it home and parked it trying to figure out what could be causing this I just had new front brakes last August put on but it's been fine til now. Don't think it could be master cylinder because that would cause both to lock up right? Any ideas? 1BAD2K
Probably just need a new caliper on that side. The pads are rotors are gonna be toast too on that side.
Downeast Johnny
As pads wear down and get thinner the piston extends further and further out of the caliper and gets "grunked up". If you put new pads on and push the piston back into the caliper, (All grunked up), the piston can stick in the caliper. Sometimes they start leaking, some times they won't turn loose when you let off the brake pedal. If you replaced the calipers make sure that the bracket is good and clean so that the caliper can move easily in it. You are right that it shouldn't be the master cyl. someotherguy
This is almost always the flex hoses. Replace them both. Inexpensive, and a very common issue. Obviously you'll need to bleed the brakes afterwards. Richard
