mctwist77
So I've put about 1000 miles on my drop spindles. I'm 95% sure the upper ball joint it's still tight and I don't feel any looseness while driving. But I feel uncomfortable without the cotter pin. I did use thread locker when I installed it as the directions called for. Should it be fine with just the thread locker? At this point I can't use a cotter pin since I had to cut the ball joint threads.
Doughty08
You will be fine bubba, I lift trucks for a living and don't come across a lot of factory ball joints using pins. As long as the nut is tight you won't have an issue of it backing itself off because of the wedge it creates when tightening.
mctwist77
Thanks boss! I appreciate it. Plus the loctite will help.

1BAD2K
Small little spot weld should do the trick lol....just don't plan on ever getting it off easily. You'll be fine with the loctite.
mctwist77
Haha, well I cut the drivers side a little too short. There is about 1 and a half threads showing on the inside of the nut. Like I said it hasn't moved at all.
isidroarreola
I left the pin off of mine when I lowered it since it got lost and I was too lazy to get another one. I regretted it months later when it fell off and had to do some mechanic work on the side of the road. If I were you id look up under there every now and then to make sure it's still tight.
