AC Delco Brake Shoes

I just picked up the AC Delco brake shoes from Rock Auto and started to get them put on as well as the backing plates. Backing plates are on and ready to go but as for the shoes Im wondering if I received the wrong clip or screws for them. The clips seems as though it would work out however the 8mm screw that is provided is to large to fit in the hole for it. Am I just an idiot or has anyone else had this problem? Im sure i can find the appropriate hardware for the clip but does anyone happen to know the threading for the 8mm bolt?

Heres a picture to help out a bit

Thanks

I think those are for the nbs 07+ with rear drums. The later trucks if I recall had same size shoe but different hardware. It's been a few years since I have seen the rear brakes on one of those so I can't say for 100% but I'm reasonably sure.....

I thought that also for a moment but double checked the part #88967122 which is the correct part number for my 03 SS. I wonder if they just tossed in the newer style clip instead of the older style. Looks like something i can work with, will just have to find different screws.

Ah I see now. That is for the parking brake shoe. The drum in hat style for rear disk. So did you replace the backing plate? I would honestly goto a GM dealer and have them look up correct hardware. My guess is that shoe works on multiple vehicles and is not correct for a c/k truck. It kinda looks like the hardware off the old S series trucks (blazers and Jimmys) which is why I recognized. I used to buy and flip s trucks but got out of that business.

Had another question regarding these AC Delco brake shoes. I got mine all back together finally and seems like they are grinding a little bit on both sides. It could also be the new backing plates I replaced as well that could be dragging on part of the rotor. Either way...is it common for the new brake shoes to grind slightly until they are worn in a bit or no?

I did the dorman 2-piece backing plates on mine, and they did the grinding thing. I jacked up the wheel and pulled the backing plate away from the rotor until it stopped grinding. Took a bit of fiddling to get them quiet.
