Fog Light project complete

Well I can finally post pics of my top secret idea on fog lights.... I used a aftermarket smoke lenses. I achieved the effect I was going for.... you can't easily see the fog light. I think it came out pretty good. I just need to aim them as they are little too high. Since it is a aftermarket unit I decided (based on comments I have seen on here) I ran a bead of clear silicon around them to help seal against moisture.

I also used this old post... it was very helpful and I made my brackets the exact same way. I had some aluminum 1inch bar stock laying around the garage which worked great

Here you go... not the best pic but seems to show it pretty good. They came with bulbs (some no name china brand). I plan to upgrade them to some silverstars at some point. Light output does not seem to be affected by the "tint".

Man, that looks great. Mine's got the wiring and button in place, I'm gonna have to look into setting something up.

That's weird you have the button already. I had to add mine. Since these started out as LT trucks they had fogs as that was included in the LT package. I also had to get a relay as they were removed also. On mine it took a little bit to find the wires under the hood they were hidden pretty good but they should be there. Easy way to tell is look in fuse center under the hood. if it has pins in the relay slot then the wiring is there you just need to find the plugs underneath. Edited by EXGM (see edit history)

Mine's an '06 as well but is an Intimidator, I don't see how that little difference would make them build the truck any differently in this regard though. I've got the button, the wiring for the lights themselves looped back and tied to itself right next to each core support main bolt, and even the relay and fuse were populated with parts that look identical to the rest of the stuff in the electrical center so I'm about 99.9% sure it was factory...not done by a previous owner.

Here's the kicker though. When I push the button, the indicator on the cluster lights up. No voltage at the plug. Tried a different relay, tried a different fuse, still nothing. Pulling the fuse then reinstalling it, while the button is still on, no click from the relay. Kinda odd.

That button is for your high mount brake lamp cab lights, the fog lamp button goes in the blank spot right beneath it.

Here is a picture of the switch you need... also the part number. This works on my '06 not sure if other years.....

Richard, It is Factory on your truck. The wires are part of the front Main head lamp harness on your truck. I might have a Spare Switch for you If your looking to make this work.

Thanks, thanks, and thanks! I don't know why I thought that was the fog switch, I'm a dummy. Appreciate y'all clearing that up. And thanks for the offer on the switch, the same offer I just told you in PM that I didn't think I needed it. Looks like I do need it after all! :)
