jddmj
Picked this up yesterday morning, and I am beyond excited. I have been wanting a truck this body style for a few years, and it finally happened. I had seen it for a number of years at a local man's house while it was in it's prime. Drove by Friday night, and it was setting in the grass. Figured it was the perfect time to jump on it, and it was. So besides the fact that it's what I was wanting, it is 1 of 1534 ever made. So I got what I wanted, and some pretty cool history. This build thread will be a slow process, but I am happy it has finally happened. Below is some pictures I snapped yesterday morning being freshly brought to it's new home. Nasty to say the least, but the nephew is excited. I think they are a nice couple. 1BAD2K
Awesome! You going to an all stock resto, or a restomod type build?
jddmj
Awesome! You going to an all stock resto, or a restomod type build? Restomod build in a sense. The motor was changed out to a crate 350 engine, so its not number matching. It will be tasteful and respectful to the heritage. Who knows, it may see a 6.0 in its future, you never can tell LOL

jddmj
Worked a little bit this evening on the truck. Didn't get into anything major. Got the door panels in near perfect shape. I still need to remove the screws that hold the arm rest, and clean all that out. Got to find some new screws, so I didnt mess with it. The drivers side door panel had the most abuse. The drivers arm has rubbed some of the panel off, so I will continue to look for one in the mean time. Only product I am using so far is a microfiber towel, and interior brush, and Tuff Stuff. This stuff can work wonders to say the least. I am thinking I will pull the carpet sometime soon, and give it a good cleaning. I would say this weekend, but I am afraid I will be at a show. I didn't get any pics of the passenger side, it just got a slight massage. Came out pretty good I thought, but I'm not done with it yet. Different lighting Next is the seats, these stains have to go. Downeast Johnny
That's a good start. I don't think I want to know what stained the seat.

rcapone
Next is the seats, these stains have to go. I would recommend some powder Oxy-Clean mixed with hot water to take that big stain out and you don't even have to scrub on it! Take like 1/2 scoop, mix with hot water in a squirt bottle and squirt it on the stain generously - should dissolve the stain completely. I think Walmart carries it. Nice project, going to be a little work but I'm sure it'll look great when you're done. I may still have to pick some Oxy-Clean up for the carpet, but I worked on the seats some last night with Tuff Stuff. I will try to get some pictures this evening after I brush all the seat material back. I worked on some of the plastics last night too. Everything is coming along pretty good honestly. Nasty to say the least. Working on it as I can, and I about have the seats cleaned up. The tuff stuff mixed with what ever was in the seat, and its sort of gummed the seats up. I got to get the brakes fixed, and give it a tune up, change the tires out. Then I should be able to start driving it a little. I just can't wait to get it lower to the ground. It feels like it has a lift kit compared to my 06.
