MARTYW
The dreaded time has come for me to buy new tires for the SSS. Its even more painful in the fact that we own 3 vehicles and all 3 need tires. Anyway, I'm looking for 275/55-20 (origianl size) tires, in the $200 each price or less. i currently have the Goodyear LS-2 tires, whick have been okay, but I saw these Michelin LTX M/S2 tires and was interested. Anyone here run them? Do you have any other or better options? I am looking for longevity more than anything else. They dont have to be higher performance ZR compound tires or anything, just some good smooth riding tires that wont make me drop $1000 a set. Thanks for any feedback. jddmj
I am in the market for tires myself. I plan on going with a Cooper Discoverer H/T Plus. They are worth checking out.
kaze_v8
When I first got my truck I started to hate Nitto Nt420s, and after getting new wheels, I switched to Nitto Nt555 and my god the thread life is amazing. I drive the hell out of my truck and still have about 90% thread after 3 months.

MARTYW
I am in the market for tires myself. I plan on going with a Cooper Discoverer H/T Plus. They are worth checking out. I do like Cooper tires. I put them on my wife's Trailblazer and we have been pleased with them. I also am considering The Goodyear LS-2. That is what is on the truck, but they were on it when I bought it, and not sure how many miles were on them when I got it.
Muggs
I also have the 420's on my truck, no complaints at all with them!
MARTYW
I was just talking to my tire guy here in town and he suggested the Cooper H/T Plus. They may be the front runner right now. I'd like to get the Michelins in a way, but I think they are going to be a lot higher. And honestly, in recent years, I have had some dry rot issue with a set of Michelins I have on my DD. I think the Coopers will run be around $170 each installed. Lost Aussie
I run the Cooper H/T Plus on my truck and love them. Handle well in all road conditions, good wearing and low noise.
90zxdriver
Nitto 420's here in a 305... zero complaints with them. Have had them for probably 2 years now. I think I paid around $800 for the set.
porksoda
If money is no object the Michelin will easily be the best tire you can get.
Blown 346
My wife has the Nitto 420's on her TBSS and they are great tires. We got those for $700 done with the Memorial day sale last year. We got a quote from TireRack and discount matched them. I have the OEM GY LS 2's on my SSS with no complaints. My wifes TBSS is modded hence the need for a better tire. I got 70K out of my OEM tires from my 04 SSS. I just rotated every 5K, re balanced, and checked air pressure each month. No cupping, feathering etc. I continue to use them. They work great in dry, wet, and winter conditions. I was pulling people out of ditches with them on snow and ice covered roads.
