Downeast Johnny
Talk to one of the popular tuners about a pro tune, (I use Zippy), and look into modding your transmission before you up the HP too far. (Larger trans cooler, "Vette" servo's, and shift kit, at least).
Afun
So a good Zippy tune before any of the big stuff like a cam. It's a weekend truck looking for a little more juice
Downeast Johnny
I didn't make that as clear as I should have. I would line up the mods that I can afford to do at one time and order a tune for those mods. Then install those mods and tune at the same time. The advise about the trans mods was to extend the life of the trans and I would do them before adding much power. The stock trans is a ticking time bomb without power adder's Personally; I would contact Zippy before buying any parts, hire him, (Be willing to pay for his expertise), to help you determine all of the parts you will need to achieve your specific goals for your truck. You will get many varied opinions as to which cam is best but you also need to consider all peripheral supporting parts. (Heads, valves, push rods, throttle body, intake, injectors, etc.) Enjoy your build.
JC03SS
Talk to Zippy if you want to use him as a tuner. He will point you in the right direction. Gotta find out how much power you want how you want it to drive? How much is your budget? Lots of questions you have to answer. Afun
Is it possible to just get a simple tune with the added exhaust and intake? I here a tune really wakes the truck up without having to modify the trans, and other components....

I here a tune really wakes the truck up without having to modify the trans, and other components.... This is actually what i was getting at with my first post. A tune will wake the truck up, especially if it hasn't been tuned for the exhaust and intake. You could also do a few things that don't require an extensive game plan but will help following mods like 160* thermostat and electric fan conversion, and include those in your first tune. You want to combine mods whenever you can because you will be charged for subsequent tunes that you will need as you add modifications. Alex@BBP
Just my opinion, but cams are towards the end of the line when I am wanting to modify. Have you done an intake, long tubes, exhaust or a tune? After those are wrapped up then a cam or blower and retune. I'd be glad to help you with any of it, shoot me a pm.
