mctwist77
Hello, everyone I have been a member of the site for a while but I sold my old SS and unfortunately did not own an SS for the past year or two. Anyway, I found this cream puff on craiglist and I couldnt pass up the offer. A 2003 Onyx Black SS with 91,000 miles It was owned by a older gentleman and he was the original owner with all records. Best of all it has always been a southern truck so it has ZERO rust. I feel like I stole if from him but thats okay because it means I have extra money for some mods! Im going to do a few cosmetic mods to start off, paint the grilles silver, add a lower lip (from the 05-06 tahoe), customize the bowtie, aftermarket headlights and give it a good polish and wax. Then I was looking to lower the back using 2 inch lowering shackle and lowering the front by adjusting the torsion bars just a little bit to give it a slight rake. Does anyone have any recommendations for shocks to use with this "drop"? And how does the ride change by adjusting the torsion bars? Thanks! Pictures kinda suck because it was so damn sunny! mctwist77
Thanks man! Now I can stop harassing you about yours. Haha. Hows your ride with the 2 inch drop shackles and the torsion bar adjustment? What are your measurements? I want to slowly build up to your level. Makes it looks muscular

mctwist77
Alright, are there any good meets in this area? Any good shops you would recommend? I moved here in August for the military so Im still getting familiar with the area. Im surprised there isnt any big meets annually for the SSS. Doughty08
I just got out of the Army last year, was stationed at Stewart down near Savannah. Moved up here near my brother and my wife's parents and as for shops I do all my work myself. Don't trust no folks around here to work on my stuff and I have the tools so why not. redeknightjr
Bro, thankyou for your service! I retired 2010. If you drop the front i would recommend Belltech 2" spindles. It was a bit of a pain in the 4th point of contact messing with the torsion bar/keys. The ride is beautiful!

O2 WS6 TA
Nice score! I'm also on 305/50s and 2" shackles, TB drop, just remember to trim the bumpstops. I'm an ATL Native, get up there 4-5 times a year. The ride is good on Bilsteins, cans say for others. Here's a shot of the drop. Still pulls car hauler and camper just fine.
