Normandy
Hey Everyone, I'm looking into getting a Gaylord speedsturr tonneau cover. I wanted to know from those who have them: 1.How is the build quality? 2. Do you have to specify the lip or is that part of the tonneau ( Ive seen some without it), and 3. Where did you buy yours? Ive already asked for a quote from their website, I was curious if any other shops sold them. Thanks everyone
MID12sSSS
I bought mine directly from Gaylord. I dealt with Kris. He was great to deal with. I think they're about $900 and you can order them already painted. So you just bolt it on and your done. However, mine had to travel to Alaska, and I didn't want the paint messed up. So I had it shipped unpainted and had it painted when it arrived. Was like $600 in shipping But awesome build quality. Just specify the truck, the speedsturr wing, and the x2000 mounting system. It locks and is a great tonneau. Highly recommend it. Some pics after it was put on. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/84406-pics-of-my-ss-as-it-sits/
1BAD2K
Do you need bed stake holes for one of these? I had them shaved on my truck.

I hope they get back to me soon on this... Here's to hoping that shipping to MO is a little cheaper... What is the X2000 mounting system? MID12sSSS
I was quoted something like $1300 painted and I'm a few minutes from their shopi must have gotten the cool guy discount. It's like a C clamp style with hinges and shocks. Works just like the hinges on your hood. Real sturdy. I don't think i have any pics of the mounting system. Maybe Google x2000 tonneau mounting system. No holes need to be drilled or anything. You couldn't ask for a better tonneau.

f1ss
Quality is great, but these are not flush mount covers which have their bennys and downfalls. I am hoping to rid my custom flushmount for one of these to cover the over the bed rails (they have stake pockets). Just want something to cover the entire bed. I really like how the speedsturr covers the bed stake holes. And water runs right over the sides and off the cover. I'm sure you could sell that flush mount in a heartbeat for a small fortune though. They're getting hard to find. Seen one go for $900 on CL up here.
