marcello7x Posted February 26, 2015 Report Share Posted February 26, 2015 While i had the truck parked waiting for parts to rebuild my front diff, i dove into my heads and cam install. I ported the heads myself, i had started the first head about 3 years ago since it was intended for my hotrod. Then bought AFR's for it and the heads sat in a box. After i bought the truck i figured why not finish them and throw them on. They would bump up my compression a bit more, and flow better once i finish the porting. They're 799 heads from a 4.8/5.3 and the same casting[albeit rougher] than the 243 ls6 heads. The cam is a custom grind i bought off of ls1tech. I got a good deal and the specs i wanted. 226/229 573/582 112lsa. Springs are comp cams .600 lift springs. While doing the swap i also cut out my cats.
