cb2big4u
Taking the leap on this one. Got the calipers, banjo bolts, crush washers. In the process of getting Rudy's adapters. 1) I can't seem to find the rotors anywhere but on summit and theirs don't come with the hat. What is everyone else doing for their rotors? 2) Which pads? The guy I am buying the calipers from says that the calipers don't come with pins. But the other auction he has pads and pins. The pads are semi metallic though. I'm guessing I for sure need these pins. What pads are everyone else running and will they come with said pins if I buy hawks or whatever? Aldofashow
I was thinking the hawk pads would work better for our trucks but that's just a thought.
A_FUrious
I read that the hawk one piece covers a tad more of the over hang than the padlets. I used the padlets. They make a ton of dust. The rotors from summit are the correct ones. One piece. I'd recommend cleaning & painting the rotors. I'm getting some oxidization around the rotor. Also, invest in the Russel Stainless lines. You'll be all up in there n you mind as well. If you use the padlets you will need the pins. They are the guides for the padlets. I believe you will still need 4 pins for the guides for the hawk one piece pads Edited December 2, 2014 by A_FuriouSS (see edit history)
cb2big4u
Gotcha. So the padlets are the correct ones and there is 1 for every piston. So 6 each side. I just didn't want to go with the semi metallic. I would be better off getting some ceramics and they would give off less dust right? And not grind down my expensive rotors as much? What's up with the rotors from summit saying they have no hat though? Does that mean I will need to buy the center piece to them?

Because I have been wondering
cb2big4u
Would like someone to chime in on this. I don't want to be the guinea pig.
chawkins6789
Did you call Summit? I have had great experiences with them and i ask a lot of questions prior to ordering
rudy91040
My two recommendations are to give supersub aka Ray a call or pm. Last I checked he had the best price shipped but it has been a while. If not Ray, try giving Baer a call directly.
A_FUrious
This was the only pic I took of the rotors that I purchased from summit. The one to the left is the baer rotor the one on the right is a stock size. Edited December 3, 2014 by A_FuriouSS (see edit history)
rudy91040
Why does everything always come down to comparing sizes? That is a really good shot. I never thought to take a pic that shows the rotors next to each other. Really shows you the difference.
cb2big4u
A furious. You are correct. Baer said that it is a one piece rotor and summit has their site messed up. Baer gave me the same price as summit and waived shipping. Still holy shit expensive for rotors though.
1BAD2K
DO NOT USE CERAMIC PADLETS! They are pretty rough on rotors and do NOT perform well at all. When i put my z06 brakes on my 06 SS, i used hawk cemraics and i couldnt feel much of a noticeable performance gain. The only plus to them is that they have low dust. Performance for price, original z06 pads are the best IMO. As far as I know, there are only a couple of companies that make a one piece pad. If you are interested in that I would check out carbotech, they make some called bobcats I believe that are supposed to be really good. as for rotors, the ones you want are one piece and the part number is on this site a few times. If you can't find it I should have it somewhere around here.
sleepingcrna
I ordered rotors direct from Baer. (602)233-1411 Seems like they had a Christmas/NewYears/BLack Friday deal or something going at the time. Item numbers 6910962 Front 245.25 6920962 Front 245.25 6910526 Rear L 200.25 6910526 Rear R 200.25 Think it was a no tax, no freight deal. Shipped total $891.00 If I can find the info on where I ordered the padlets, i'll get you that info. I've only used the padlets. Seem OK, decent stopping, moderate dust, easy install. cb2big4u
I went ahead and got the semi metallic padlets. I had to order banjo bolts from 2 different spots and I got 2 different bolts with the same part number. They are going back and I'm going to order a pair.
