PRC heads

Recommended Posts

Anyone running a set of PRC heads? Can I get your opinion on them? I'm thinking heads and intake next. PRC seems to have the best bang for buck ported 317's but I was also wondering about experiences with the PRC as-cast heads. I know AFR is legendary along with TEA, and possibly TF, but these are so expensive. I'm not going max effort, just more power for the $. I'm thinking of doing the stage 2.5 6.0 heads with shave to 68-69cc along with a port matched fast 102, NW 102 TB, and a 4" MAF. The as-cast heads unported flow more cfm than the stg 2.5, but cost about 350 more. Worth it? I have 1 3/4 headers, which I know 1 7/8 would be better at the point and I'm willing to swap. Like I said, think bang for buck please. Thanks in advance !

Oh. Awesome to hear! I'm still kicking around whether I wanna toss boost on at some point, though I understand what your saying about the ls6 chambers helpin out. if i decide to go all motor ill prolly end up going with the PRC casting with the 65cc chambers. If you don't mind me askin, what cam are you running?

Well I checked out your profile and saw you have the 228. I bet that thing sounds beautiful

Yea the ls6 heads are cathedral port heads. I have 60cc chambers.

So what compression are you running? do you have a build thread. I'm going back in my SS with a LQ4 and I'd like to bring the compression up and do a cam. so if I don;t want to just mill my 317 to get my compression up I'm thinking of getting a set of heads.
