Need help for running xm antennae

I have an 2003 ss and I am installing a Kenwood DDX371 receiver and would like to add xm. Has anyone ever run an xm antennae. I have heard some of the trucks may be prewired for xm. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if your truck was pre-wired for XM it would have a shark fin antenna on top. Even in that case Im not sure if you can integrate the aftermarket Kenwood with the factory XM

I just ran my antenna out of my third brake light on attached it to the roof. It was super simple to run it through the trim of the truck.

Thanks for the info. I read online in a couple of places that people left the antenna under the dash and still had good reception. Is this something that you looked into or tried?

Anyone know, are all XM antennas the same? I have XM in my truck but the module went bad and I don't want to buy the $300 replacement so I was going to just get a new radio and buy the $40 XM module from Sirrus to be cheaper and get a nice double-din touch screen out of it. So, question is, can I use my factory antenna with an aftermarket box so I don't have to have 3 boxes on my roof because 2 is plenty...
