has anybody done a complete l92/6l80 swap?

The only gen 4 ecm that supports serial data is the e67, that with the t42 and you MIGHT be able to retain the gauge cluster functions as long as the bcm can be programmed as if it was a trailblazer ss. And that's a big MAYBE. if you go e38ecm you will have to piggy back an ls1 pcm in order to maintain your gauge cluster.

ive done it you need complete engine and trans with harness and ecm all from same vehicle the only difference i came up with was fan wires i had to add them to harness, buth other than that it all works, i just had to get a custom drive shaft

Can we get more info on this. What ecm/tcm did you use. Is the gauge cluster still functional?
