2005 silverado abs pump/module

My father in law has a 2005 Silverado 1500. He had the typical ABS/BRAKE lights on and he took to the dealer. The dealer told him the ABS module needed replaced. I work at a Mercedes/Volvo dealer;therefore, I got him a new module for much less then retail. He took the truck back to the dealer to have the module installed and programmed. The truck was fine for a week and now the lights are back on, but now the ABS pump won't stop running (the dealer pulled the fuse for now)and the dealer now says he needs a new pump; have you ever seen this before?

I see many online posts about pumps not shutting off and the common fix is to repair/replace the module, well, we put a brand new module on and the pump won't shut off. Dealer claims new pump required and they want $1600 because the lines may break.

I find it hard to believe that a week ago the module was replaced with a brand new AC-DELCO unit at a local GMC dealer, now they claim the pump needs to be replaced because it won't shut off, but if the ABS module is what controls the pump and it's brand new and worked fine for a week, why would the pump need replacing?

Can't say this is for sure the cause, so take it for what it's worth. A buddy of mine swapped to a 90 mm throttle body and had all kinds of error codes. He would go into limp mode so often he left a scan tool hooked up any time he was driving to clear the codes. He checked grounds. He wiggled wires. He tried different throttle bodies, newer and older x-links, all with same result. No change at all. All the same time he had a check ABS light on, the display on the rear view mirror was intermittent and never thought there could be a connection. He finally broke down and took his truck to his mechanic. After multiple phones calls to torque rush and hours of no success, the shop ran an additional ground. Low and behold, all codes throttle codes went away, ABS codes gone too, his rear view mirror display came back as well.

Regarding the abs pump always staying on.. Mine does the same. Has since I bought it from the previous owner a year ago, and however long it did for him. My fuse is just out, but from the searching I did.. The cause is a shorted out 'MOSFET" resistor inside the abs module. It's a $5 fix if you go through the trouble of taking the pump and whatnot out. But Definitely worth it. Research more info on the mosfet

well, last night I did a little bit of work, I cleaned and checked the grounds under the drivers door, they were fine. I removed my battery and battery tray, as I read that there were problematic grounds under the battery tray, but did not find any. I also installed new battery terminal ends as the factory ones were fairly gnarly. abs light is still on. I need to pick up my scanner tonight and move further with it, I guess I could pull the fuse, but Id prefer it be fixed before fall. ive never felt the abs work on dry pavement, thanks to the sucky Silverado stock brakes.
