4Runner
So I was trying to search this and came up blank but has anyone ever put the diesel drivetrain in a 1500/SS. I'm not to worried about the rear. That will be easier then the front. The only things I can find is solid axle swaps and such. Thanks
shawnss
I personally never have. but I did talk to a guy who swapped a 6.6 dmax into a 1500 yukon. and he said the biggest issue they ran into was the allison transmission it quite a bit bigger than a 4l60/4l80 trans and it hit the tunnel under the truck when he went to install it. so he had to do a 2" body lift to raise it up to clear the tranmission tunnel. I would assume the 1500/SS would be the same but can't say 100% sure. It was a sweet yukon. all blacked out with a dmax and lifted 4 inchs plus the 2" of body lift/ I have soe pictures of it I can post.
Tyson1972
The 2500/3500 trucks have a body lift from the factory because of the Allison is a taller transmission.
canadianVRss
There was a guy on here that did a 2500 diesel set up into a SS clone. I'd imagine that would be much easier.

chpspecial
The 2500/3500 trucks have a body lift from the factory because of the Allison is a taller transmission. Correction. They have a 2" taller frame that raises the body 2". Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk
Tyson1972
Correction they have a thicker frame yes, but NOT a taller frame. They have a factory BODY LIFT. I know this because my best friend has a 2006 2500 HD and I've seen them with my own eyes, his truck has not been lifted at all it's still factory in that aspect. It has a lot of performance stuff but no lift at all.
