shawnss
Ok so I have been looking for about the last month for a clean DD. As some may know I was looking at a 07 sierra Denali but it just had to many issues and we couldn't make a deal. So that left me to looking again. I have been searching and have only been finding junk. I am a bit picky so I know its going to be hard finding a truck that is used but I know it can be done. I have found one crew cab. that has low miles (65K) with just a few things. I'd need to change to make it work for me. Biggest down fall is no leather but not deal breaking. I can always add leather if it bugs me that bad. I have drove the truck and it is clean. really tight and taken care of well. its a 2 owner truck first owner had it for 9k miles and had a grill guard on it. well he removed it when it sold and you can see where it scratched the paint on top of the bumper where the grill guard rested. then the factory bed cap molding are warped from having a rollup bed cover on it and sitting in the sun. you can only get the factory bed molding from the factory on the 5'3" beds. at a cost of $363.00 So for repaint of the top bumper piece it would be about $250.00 and the factory bed molding pieces cost $363.00 from the factory. so about $613.00 to fix the issues. The truck high books for $19200.00 the guy is asking $19850.00 I offered him $18500.00 because of the few small things I'd have to fix. he is stuck at $19000.00 and will not move. So do I given in and just pay the $19000.00 thats only $200.00 away from full retail.? Do you guys think that is to much to pay. keep in mind in my area clean trucks are hard to find. most are rock beat to shit because guy dont run mud flaps on gravel roads. heres the truck http://billings.craigslist.org/cto/4584980428.html
JC03SS
Nice truck but I wouldn't give him 18 for it. To me no leather n that many miles I'd buy a brand new truck with 0 miles. 19 even at BB is way to high to me. It's an 06 it's almost 9yrs old. This is just my Op. shawnss
http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/cto/4584130703.html Wow. I wish trucks went that cheap around here. everything is sky high and they move quick. trucks dont last around here. if they do there is something major wrong with it. trucks hold a strong market here. Since everybody here has them or wants them. heck i looked at a 2010 silverado 2500 HD LTZ crew cab. found out it had 150K for a 2010 and its list for $25k I about fell over. it was rock chipped to crap and had a few decent sized dents on it. sad thing is it will be gone in a week or two tops. ssBLACKEDOUTss
Its a tough one, I am one to pay more than things are worth because Its exactly what I want. IMO I wouldn't pay almost 20k for an almost 10yr old vehicle. There are parts that will wear just from being old, that's a factor. BUt its all about what you are looking for, trucks definitely aren't cheap no matter what you're looking for.
silverado777
Could always buy one out of state and have it shipped. I'm sure most guys on here would be more than happy to check out a truck for you if they are close.

I'm sure most guys on here would be more than happy to check out a truck for you if they are close. Yeah I have thought about that as well. I actually bought the SS sight un seen back in 06 1800 miles away. luckily it turned out to be a good truck and wasn't beat up. Who knows I could have just got luckily. I'll be in denver in the next month or so. been keeping an eye out down there as well.

diggerdan11
One thing you guys need to remember is that trucks hold their value a lot better out west then they do in the east. I see lots of trucks similar to this one selling for $17-19K and usually have twice as may miles as this one. Example: http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?endYear=2006&zip=97005&engineCode=8CLDR&doorCode=4&showcaseListingId=372974532&mmt=%5BCHEV%5BCHEV150%5B%5D%5D%5B%5D%5D&doorCodes=4&vehicleStyleCodes=AWD4WD&modelCode1=CHEV150&sortBy=mileageASC&showcaseOwnerId=73328&makeCode1=CHEV&startYear=2005&engineCodes=8CLDR&searchRadius=300&listingId=376954381&Log=0 I paid $19K for my 03 1500HD with 59K miles on about a year and a half ago, and I believe I got a hell of a deal. I believe that $19K for a 06 with 65K miles in Montana is a pretty good deal. I would say if you really like it and think its a good vehicle then go for it. This is correct. these trucks do book for this. In great shape. its hard finding good deals out here. my last 06 green crew I had I got a smoking deal on. it had 97k on it 6.0 4l80E cloth interior and I paid $13k for it. but I also got it from a buddy who his dad bought it at the auction for me. it high booked for 22k at that point and I drove if for 7 month and still sold it for $16K to the first guy who looked at it. this truck here high books for $19400.00 http://www.nadaguides.com/Cars/2006/Chevrolet/SILVERADO-1500-PICKUP-1-2-Ton-V8/Crew-Cab-LT-4WD/Values

JC03SS
I would def buy out of state. You can save a lot more money. I did like you bought the SS site unseen 3 states away.
