5752
Just double checking before I order this from Summit or Streetside. Does the Russell brake line kit #672430 fit the 03 SSS's? 5752
04-05 SSS brakes should be the same as the 03 SSS...correct? Russell Performances web site lists kit #672430 for 04-05 SSS's...not the 03 SSS. Edited April 9, 2014 by TSA (see edit history)
chpspecial
Only if they have rear wheel disc brakes. Otherwise it will be different. The trucks with drums only use 3 lines not 5 Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk
5752
My 03 SSS has the rear disc brakes...Thanks for the reply!
5752
Back in 2004-05 I installed the Earls Hyper-firm 5 Line Brake Kit #28A640ERL {now discontinued} listed for the 99-03 Silverado RWD Trucks. For ten years this kit has worked perfectly on my 03 SSS AWD w/2-piston calipers front & rear. Now it's about time to replace the lines...I called Stillen Performance {866-250-5542} & spoke with Shawn ext.#122 to help solve this mystery. I gave him the old Earls part #'s & they just happen to have one of the Earls kits left!! So, Shawn is going to take a look at the kit before shipping it out to me & work on matching the old Earls Kit to a Goodridge Kit.
BLOWN SS/T
You weren't able to find a Russell kit? I have one in my truck.
5752
I wasn't sure which Russell Kit would fit.
BLOWN SS/T
I can look through and search after work tonight. Im using the kit with 3 lines since I have an 06 with rear drums. Idk if you have an autozone near you but that's where I got mine from. It's only a couple dollars more then the cheapest price online but you have the connivence of going of returning if it doesn't fit
5752
I ordered the last Earls Kit from Shawn @ Stillen Performance. He's going to match this old Earls kit with a Goodridge. I'm sure he could cross reference the Goodridge to a Russell kit. I'll post his findings so other members can order the correct one for the 03 SSS's w/the four wheel disc brakes. Thanks, Tim
BLOWN SS/T
You have the right part number 672430, it'll fit the 03-05. I was trying to find the part number for the 06 SS and they have 672490 listed as being for the the 06 SS but it isn't the right one. I can't find it in my receipts and I've ordered 2 sets of these already. I'm gonna have to say the right part number is 672480. I know you ordered a kit already but for future reference and for anyone searching in the future.
1981evildisco
So 672480 is the corect Russell line p/n for the 2006 SS. Curious; this is for the f/disks r/drum?

03_SS
I know this post is old as f@ck, but I just ordered the Russell 672430 kit from Summit for my 03 today. Goodridge told me they don't offer any brake lines for the SSS and Wilwood informed me that I'd have to purchase their whole brake kit (calipers, rotors, and pads) just to get their brake lines. StopTech offered no workable solution either. After researching multiple sites much of the info I found for the correct Russell brake lines was convoluted and inconsistent so I went with what seems to be the least unlikely wrong answer. Can let you know how it works out if needed.
