NipRing
I have the bose 6-disc, no xm, no onstar. Which device will allow me to have an input for my iPhone? I saw a thread about the gm12-auxv2 but that seems to be for xm ready radios. What do i need? Thanks

diggerdan11
If you have the bose 6-disc they your Stereo is XM ready, it just does not have XM. This would work the best for you, its a simple plug an play and you can controll the Ipod through the stereo: http://www.amazon.com/Isimple-Isgm575-iPhone-Auxiliary-Interface/dp/B00455RAD6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1381501976&sr=8-1&keywords=ISGM575 There are also this one: this one is Ipod only the other one will work with an Aux imput as well http://www.amazon.com/Peripheral-ISGM73-iPod-Interface-Kit/dp/B000P3CJOM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1381502081&sr=8-1&keywords=ISGM73

By the way, if my 6-disc is xm ready, what am i missing to make it operational? I've seen on ebay some sort of rectangular metal xm "receiver box" that would seem to go behind the dash somewhere. That and maybe the xm antenna? thanks
12'SROCK
If you are a willing to do some splicing..... you can buy a stereo 3.5mm male/male wire and cut one end off. The wires for the L/R channel will be spliced in where the xm wires are on the back of the factory head unit. Then you can toggle through the source ( fm1,fm2,am, xm or now aux). I can give you more details if your interested. I have done 4 trucks this way and sound is as clear as can be.

Sounds a lot cheaper than the adapters.

I don't think it will work if you don't have xm already. The radio needs to see a module for it to switch to an alternative source. Plus I don't have an iPod or iPhone so no need for iPod connectivity. I have xm ready but never use it
Smokinthehippies
Gonna bump an old thread here as I foud it searching before creating my own. I have the Bose 6 cd Xm radio. Currently using it for xm. Want to add aux input without losing my xm. Just looked up gm12-auxv2 base on an above post but it looks like it's discontinued. What can I do to make this happen? I don't want to lose any functions currently, I just want to add in an aux port. Really want to make this work so I won't be forced to build a system for this truck.
