Joe Roknic
What tranny you going to run ??? 4l80 or.... I'm considering a 4l80 swap for mine ...converter won't lock ... also feeling a little slip when she shifts from 2nd to third at wot. Don't really want to stick anymore in the 4l60, it's a FLT level 7..and i think i'm riding the fence on how much power it will handle... i need one that will take some pounding if you know what i mean. Did you convert your SS to 2WD? Yes SSM definately go built 4L80... Then you could boost your LS7 (maybe a Pro-Charger?) How do you like your 3200rpm stall? I'd love to see a few pics... Anyway, I had a 4L860 level 4 built by RPM Transmissions that I had built for a crate LS3 before I changed my mind went to the Wegner LS 415. I don't think it the RPM 4L60 Level 4 would last too long for anything over 600hp. So since Wegner is claiming 900 HP (boosted) @ the crank we had a 4L80 built to handle the around 800-825 HP @ the wheels. I'll sell the 4L60 level 4 CHEAP if anyone needs one. More pics... Not happy with the stall ..... it's flashing somewhere between 4200-4400 rpm ... i wanted it to stall right around 3400- 3600.. they missed the mark big time. I think i'm missing out on the tourqe down low i have with the extra cubes. I'm still awd but i'm probably going ahead with the swap anyway... need to wait awhile, save up some money.. When is Brad and the crew going to finish up that BEAST you call a truck... I would love to see it.

More pics... %18 drive train loss for 2wd. 900 at the crank would be 738 at the wheels. That's for a 2wd 4l65e, I believe the parasitic loss is a more around the %20 mark with a 80e, which correlates to 720 at the wheels. Just a FYI. Many other factors go into it. To the OP. What about doing something like this out of .250 plate 6061 T6 and have a taper on the inside edge and polish them or have them done in black ano? You could always buy that cladding part again and have it repainted. Cut a different size hole in it. I know it isn't ideal, but an option none the less. I better shoot that over to my fab guy now. Thanks a ton!! It has more "finished" looki than the tear drop I had sketched out on the painters tape. I'm wondering if it could do a 90 degree inward bend where you have the straight part on the inside between the two pipes? And nice flush flat head screws vs rivets? sprayed99
I just tossed that together in CAD in a minute or two. On the screws i would use countersunk flat head allen bolts.
JC03SS
True I. The Allen Head flat heads in Stainless will look awesome.
jaxxon
Hey all thanks for all the input, I really appreciate it. Ok so now I'm trying to come up with a trick cold air induction system. Yeah, normallly I'm a function only guy and I know the dual set up is more than enough air, but hey I can use 1/2 size K/N conicals.
sprayed99
I would use 1 4" tube. The two into one stuff doesn't look great IMO. The fab cost can be spent in other areas. Like polished arp bolts to fancy up the fasteners on the external engine parts.
